LBJ was an elite HS football player but he just bumped into a guy that might've played for Bama. Punk move.

Re: WELCOME TO ORLANDO JALEN SUGGS!!!!
Suggs averaging 14 PPG in 27 MPG over his last 15 games. His shooting hasn't been good but it's getting better. It's pretty obvious that he'll be a 20 PPG player when he starts to figure it out. Great defense and a 20 PPG player is a perennial all-star.

This is another one of those cases where I had to assume the coaches were working with him (obviously, right?) but it's still reassuring to see it confirmed.
Pretty funny that he couldn't shoot with the broken thumb so he had to work on left-hand finishing instead.
Thank goodness.
I think one game since he's returned he was still throwing up prayers, but otherwise it seems a lot better.

“Finding those spots on the backboard, hitting those spots, so when we’re going in there we’re not just hoping it goes in and putting the ball up on the rim,” Suggs said. “We’re aiming for specific points on the backboard and understanding if I put it here, that’s a bucket.”
Thank goodness.

Funny considering one is considered to be DPOY candidate while the other is referred to as a bust by the general public.

Because context of defense matter. Cavs are 3rd best, Magic 8th worst defense in nba.
Also it's positional thing, bigs always get more credit for defense because they anchor defense and correct mistakes of others, guards very rarely get as much praise or win awards for defense. matter of fact some of most elite guard defenders in nba are viewed as "bums" by fans and media. From Eric Bledsoe ,Geroge Hill in past, Pat Beverly, M. Smart...
There is also some fundamental issue with raptor defensive data. Caleb Martin and Derrick Rose are NOT best guard defenders, Ande Drummond has been worthless defender a time, those guys are all in top 15.
Oh and Jokic as second best defender just points how that data isn't very good to determinate who is good defender. For crying out loud, Blake Griffin is 3rd best

Rob Gronkowski said very recently that the toughest player he's played against in his career was Terrell Suggs.
Isn't Terell Suggs Jalens Suggs' cousin/uncle?

Is he really? I wonder if Jalen Suggs ever played football as well?

Re: WELCOME TO ORLANDO JALEN SUGGS!!!!
I accept it could totally be coincidence, but does anyone else feel that Orlando is suddenly playing more cohesively with fewer errors, better teamwork and more switched on since Suggs came back? The part we can't see is how a character like Suggs affects the dressing room.
I suspect it's a powerful thing.
Plus fewer minutes for Ross and RJ also helps in that department!!!

Its a cliche but he does look like culture changer. Everybody plays harder when he is out there. He competes, but doesnt get frustrated. When he got foul on his clean block on Powell he very fast got composed and even joke'd with referee.
It doesnt seem like its coincidence we started winning since he returned. You look at boxscore and think there is no way he has highest +/- on the team. You watch the game and you understand. He is the positive attitude Westbrook
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

in last 7 games against orlando, 9 different allstars didn't play . It helps
Most of outcomes against bad teams is depending on how serious and how inganged opponents are. That's why Pistons can suprise one Bucks, Jazz, Cavs, Heat in single season, and basically lose all others.

Re: WELCOME TO ORLANDO JALEN SUGGS!!!!
Suggs has the best Defensive Raptor among rookies, and 12th in the league for players who played at least 830 minutes.

I dont know what point you are trying to make. All stars were missing when Suggs was injured and all stars are missing when he returned. Bulls and Mavericks are dangerous even without some players, they are still winning against some teams. You also cant say both Chicago and Dallas werent going hard for the win.
Suggs has many flaws right now, but we are playing better defense with him. We are 4th in defensive rating since his return.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Mavs in second night of back to back without Hardaway and Porzingis,Bulls without 3 starters and 2 rotation players...
4th best? Isn't Atlanta the best in last 5, while being 5th worst for season? Sample size ans opponts (and situation with opponents) matter.
Suggs plays solid perimeter defense, but he for damn sure isn't turning season by himself. We are as good as good opponents allow us to be. That goes for all 4 tankers this year. I mean, that is always a case really.
That's why even worst teams every year win 10-15 -18 games.
We are 3rd wost offense in last 7, but 18# in last 3 games. Sample size isn't worth keeping eye on. We'll see at the end of year where we rank.
