DeAndre Jordan got an INSANE list of (ex) teammates

Post#1 » by SUPERVILLAIN » Tue Feb 1, 2022 4:22 pm

I was just strolling around basketball-reference.com then somehow ended up on DeAndre Jordan's page. And I just realized that this guy got an INSANE collection of teammates.

No ordinary man would be blessed with teammates like these. He played with so many legends. I'm guessing either he is a really fun, nice guy or maybe he simply prays so often.

* Blake Griffin (LAC)
* Chris Paul (LAC)
* Baron Davis (LAC)
* Paul Pierce (LAC)
* Kyrie Irving (BKN)
* Luka Doncic (DAL)
* Chauncey Billups (LAC)
* James Harden (BKN)
* Grant Hill (LAC)
* Russell Westbrook (LAL)
* Carmelo Anthony (LAL)
* Zach Randolph (LAC)
* Kevin Durant (BKN)

* Dwight Howard (LAL)
* Anthony Davis (LAL)

And the only thing he has to show for it is a dunk on Brandon Knight :o

More of a legend than a lot of the list, since he shagged Maria Sharapova for quite some time.

And yet the biggest publicity he got in his life was when he was held hostage by the LA Clippers at his house while the Dallas Mavericks were banging on his door.

DeAndre played with the Clippers for a loyal decade, but for 5 years he’s played for 4 different teams.

* Blake Griffin (LAC)
* Chris Paul (LAC)
* Baron Davis (LAC)
* Paul Pierce (LAC)
* Kyrie Irving (BKN)
* Luka Doncic (DAL)
* Chauncey Billups (LAC)
* James Harden (BKN)
* Grant Hill (LAC)
* Russell Westbrook (LAL)
* Carmelo Anthony (LAL)
* Zach Randolph (LAC)
* Kevin Durant (BKN)
* Antawn Jamison (LAC)
* Dwight Howard (LAL)
* Anthony Davis (LAL)
* LeBron James (LAL)
* Dirk Nowitzki (DAL)
* Rajon Rondo (LAL)
* Isaiah Thomas (LAL)

I feel sorry how unstable his career is now. Listing 7 of the Lakers as prime experience is weak when he hasn’t finished a single season with them.

There was a thread a little while back about players with crazy lists of former teammates. I'm not sure anybody can beat Brendan Haywood. I believe he's the only guy who was teammates with both Jordan and LeBron, and it ranges from Charles Oakley to Kyrie Irving

Wasn't there some crazy stat about how there was like a 20 year streak of a teammate of Shaq's winning a ring (starting before Shaq entered the league)?

Edit: Yeah it's a crazy streak.

Adrian Wojnarowski: Not if people make calls on him. Not if an organization is doing their homework and knows all the things he brings with him.

His game was heavily predicated on athleticism and once that left, it was game over for him. Seriously he was one of the worse FT shooters I've ever seen. Guy made Shaq look like Dirk at the FT line. Dude only had 1 season where he shot above 50% from the FT line during his first 9 years with the Clippers and no wonder CP3 lost his damn mind on him. He managed to get one final payday from Brooklyn only b/c KD and Kyrie for whatever reason demanded that the Nets give him a 4/40M deal that nobody was offering and he got Kenny Atkinson fired because he wanted playing time despite the fact that Jarrett Allen was outplaying him and was 10 years younger.

In the end he'll have made $170M by the time the Pistons are done paying out his contract. Oh well they got 4 2nds out of it so it's not a big deal for a small market team that's rebuilding with regards to the cap hit. DJ should've been so much more. If he had simply been a 60-70% FT shooter, Clippers could've won a title but it wasn't meant to be.

Ehh, prime DJ with the Clips was definitely a high level role player.

He was a rebounding/dunking machine. He wasn't a DPOY or anything like that, but he'd definitely make opposing guards think twice about going into the paint. He totally wrecked the Warriors in the 1st round in 2014. Granted, the Warriors 2 centers (Bogut/Ezeli) were both injured and out, but can't fault Jordan for feasting on that and having a few stretches where he looked like Wilt.

And no rings to show for it.
