Nets at Kings 2/2/2022 @ 10:00 pm EST

Post#1 » by HardenGoat » Wed Feb 2, 2022 7:17 pm

Probable starting lineups:

Brooklyn Nets

F Kessler Edwards
C Day’Ron Sharpe
G Patty Mills
G Kyrie Irving
G James Harden

Sacramento Kings (If Fox is not playing)

F Harrison Barnes
F Maurice Harkless
C Richaun Holmes
G Davion Mitchell
G Tyrese Haliburton

Harden is going to play despite a swollen right hand, he says he can move it so he is a go. I would expect some minute restrictions being a back to back. Obviously we need to start strong for that to happen. I foresee a classic Harden game as long as Sharpe is in there to start. The player to contain is going to be Haliburton, we need Bembry and Kessler on him since I now believe Kess is one of our best defenders.

Claxton will start again tonight I Believe. I dont think Sharpe will be in the rotation unless Claxton gets re-injured.

No Fox, No Bagley, no Davis and they are actively tanking... Nash shouldnt even be able to screw this one up.

Haliburton has the "it" factor. Cant miss player.

Most winnable game on the road. Let’s go get the W.

Needed a W to stop the bleeding. In fact, might as well have a winning streak, shall we?

Holmes and Haliburton will destroy us. Wouldn't shock me if Barnes does to us what Wiggins did the other day.

Novak Djokovic cares about WINNING. He's caved.
What about you, Kai? You really care? Maybe not?

Harden might not even play. Seems pretty injured.

If this was a competent team we would easily beat the Kings without Harden. But I have no faith.

Based on the Ducler tweet it looks like Sharpe is a guarantee to start!

This is a "no excuses" game for us.

I feel for Harden, not only for this latest nagging injury, but for the fact that he knows this compromised Nets team cannot beat Sacramento without him. So, bruised and battered, he'll soldier on, even with most Brooklyn fans jeering him.

I really wish we wouldn't start Mills. Give him 30 minutes and 15 shots, fine. But starting the game with 3 shaky perimeter defenders has been a detriment to this team IMO. Abs really, there aren't enough shots to go around for Patty, Kyrie and James sharing the court, to make defenders pay for everything you give up on the other end. Bembry, please.

Nic needs to sac up, pun intended. He's had injuries and illnesses, I get all that. But right now, it's "put up or shut up" time. If he can't assert himself against this weak Kings Frontline, he may be gone before the trade deadline. Too much unrealized potential here, he has to prove he can stay healthy and bang down low.

I'm crossing fingers, gang. This one feels like an inflection point. We already had rumblings of an offseason Harden S&T, of Harris being out for the season, of Abbamondi quitting when we're supposed to be on top of the league. If we don't win tonight, the media machine will crank to levels we haven't seen.

Nash, it's on you. No excuses. Go Brooklyn.

Team has looked good the last 5 and played great vs. the warriors with just Kyrie. we should win this one with or without Harden. If we don't, that is just pathetic. the kings are missing Fox and have no interest in winning games right now.

This team has not looked good. Our defensive metrics are terrible. Players look lost on both ends.

Nash needs to be fired.

I'm also starting to be in favor of trading Harden now instead of waiting in July. I like Harden a lot but he's fed up with this situation (I agree with him) and I'd rather do this now then later. We aren't winning this year as long as Nash is coach, Kyrie is part time, and Harris is out.

I'm also going to be blunt: Harden has not looked like someone you max out for the next 5 years. Not with the rule changes and his drop in production and efficiency across the board.

I like the guy, but we need to be honest. If we can get Simmons and Maxey for Harden I think we do it. Maxey went to war with Morant the other night and held his own.

Simmons could thrive here possibly as a point center and Maxey serves as Kyrie insurance. We need to think bigger picture. I don't trust Kyrie and I want him off this team sooner than later. Pairing KD up with some high upside young players may pay off more than sticking to this losing formula. Harden’s game is looking like it won't age well and Kyrie is a headcase that will be out of the league by 2024.

Yes. Being allowed in European country to compete in his sport.

Kyrie doesn't give a f#ck either way. And I think Djokovic is a complete douche but even he is now doing the bare minimum to be able to play.

Kyrie needs to go. I'm tired of this crap.

Kyrie is such a clown. He knows what he needs to do to ensure that he, Harden, and KD will be together in the playoffs. Yet he refuses to do it.

Winning will solve everything plus the mandate will be lifted. Durant will be back soon. No worries.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
