Saying no to Kennard because of his defense and then saying Ross should be a target right after is funny

Ross is still a way better defender than Kennard, what exactly is funny?

I'll have to admit, no, no I have not. Didn't realize he regressed as much

Heard that NAW is having a down year, shooting poorly atm. Not sure how much Pels value him.

Would they be interested in NAW for Flynn + SRP + filler (if necessary to keep us under the tax)? At most I'd do 2 SRPs but won't add a FRP, he's not worth that.

A separate random thought, would you guys do Trent + FRPs for SGA? OKC probably still says no because they need to consolidate their picks rather than add to it. At the beginning of the year, OKC would say no for sure, but I wonder if Trent's hot streak and young age will get them to consider it.

Seems especially weird to trade him to a team you're battling for positioning

Yeah and moving him would create a big hole at Center for them

Also he’s kinda injury prone so idk if it would even be a good idea to trade for a guy like that considering what it likely would take

In defence of ross’ aptitude, he appears to be playing some very uninspired ball the last 2+ years.

What about Dragic for NAW + Hayes?

Would love him. Cheap, versatile, good shooter, solid defender

There is no room for Ross with the current team and its culture. Bamba might be a good value pickup for this team if he comes cheap

I am not sure we necessary need a guy who can play 30mpg but really someone who can play 15-20 and more in a situational setting.

If we can break Dragic into a functional center and some bench shooting I would be over the moon.

I agree with you about getting a 15-20 minute guy. I also think they’re maybe just doing their due diligence on those bigger name guys. Who are you sending to the bench from the starting 5 if you add a guy like Turner, who most assuredly would want to start?

I like the Serge/Kennard deal that’s been thrown out there. Kennard has had a couple great weeks for them and would really help our bench scoring. Serge is Serge and would take a bench role at this point.

I threw out a Poeltl/McDermott deal a few pages back that’s similar. In both deals, you’re adding 2024 salary but both Kennard and McDermott are probably returning value at that time anyway.

Nurkic is intriguing but I don’t see how they move him with the Dame situation being as it is.

Atlanta has 3 1st round picks I believe. What about Danilo and one of their 1sts for Dragic’s expiring?

Here's the trade Matrix,

If anyone still harboured a desire to expend positive assets to acquire Christian Wood, this twitter thread should disabuse you of that notion.

IMO they're more likely to try and make some kind of consolidation trade than waste a pick just to get out of Gallo's last year

it's not even worth it for them, Gallo is partially guaranteed next year so the savings won't even be that much.

Christian Wood literally just took over in the 4th. Two clutch threes. A Clutch steal and a block on mobely.

Christian Wood in the Raptors development system would be a problem for other teams. He needs that motivation on a good team because the defensive potential is there

Fred VanVleet
Gary Trent Jr.
OG Anunoby / Scottie Barnes
Pascal Siakam / Precious / Boucher
Christian Wood / Khem Birch

So much defensive potential and length
