The Celtics have 2-3 good TPEs, young players and all their draft picks. Plenty of ammo to go get a quality player. I still think they are just going to move Schroder and get under the tax but it will be interesting to see what they do at the deadline.
Celtics could very easily be 31-25 and and right on the edge of the 6th seed and trending upward about 2 days before the trade deadline.
I wonder if that changes their thinking? Probably not but very interesting.
I don't think short term wins and losses makes a difference. It is what type of deal can you make? I think the interest in Beasley is telling. They know they need more scoring. Can they get a guy that fits or are they better off trying to squeeze it out of the guys they have that can also defend.

Beal to Boston
Schroder to Pho
Jalen Smith to Wash from Pho
Horford to Wash
Langford to Wash
Bos 2022 1st round pick to Wash
Bos 2023 1st round pick swap with Wash
Bos 2024 1st round pick to Wash
Bos 2025 1st round pick swap to Wash
2nd trade:
Bertans to Bos (into TPE)
2023 2nd round pick to Wash
Future 2nd round pick from Pho (from Schroder trade) to Wash
Why for Bos:
You know why, Smart, Beal, Brown, Tatum, R. Williams as starters, with Richardson, G. Will, PP, Bertans and Nesmith off the bench
Why for Pho:
Moves a player of no use and a real low 2nd pick for a backup PG that has playoff exp and can create own shot.
Why for Wash:
Horford is salary relief next season, period. Young players to try out in Langford and Smith. Then there are the picks. 2 unprotected 1sts, 2 pick swaps, and 2 2nds. Lots of financial flexibility, couple young players that can be released if don't want with no financial problems and picks.
Fire away

What role would Sexton fill on this team?
Scorer off the bench?
Trade Balast?
I mean, If I thought that a signed and traded Sexton would be an asset to help get Beal in the offseason then I make that deal easy peasy
I don't. Tatum Brown and Rob should be the only untouchables.playa-hater wrote:snowman wrote:IMO:
Untouchables:
Tatum, Brown, R. Williams, Smart (I have changed my tune on Smart since the way he has been playing since he came back)
Will take a LOT to get:
Richardson, G. Will
Don't want to move, but will for right return:
PP, Nesmith
Will include in right deal, but not giving away:
Horford, Langford, Bol
Take first offer you get, if you even get one.
Freedom, Bruno, Dozier
Get him the h@ll off this team ASAP.
Schroder
I think most would agree with this.

I'd be thrilled to see him go for a shooting role player, that's it. I think bringing in a shooter and losing Smart is a huge win.Fierce1 wrote:Celts had 31 assists against the Hornets because Grant and Josh were making their 3-point shots.
This is what the Celts need to address at the trade deadline.
A guy like Buddy Hield will make a difference.
You're lying if you're going to tell me the Sixers are not better off with Marcus Smart than Ben Simmons.
Smart's trade value is at an all-time high right now.
If I'm the Sixers, having Smart instead of Simmons is an upgrade.
Will Brad trade Marcus Smart?
We'll know for sure in one week.
