Yes

If you want thybulle it should be with a hope for him to improve his 3 pt shooting. Right now it’s not a big deal because of embiid curry and maxey. Even s part of our bench he’d be Exposed

But imagine that defense mixed in with OG Pascal Boucher FVV all flying around.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

The extension puts the Celtics into the tax again next season, which includes letting Schroeder walk for nothing. I could see the Celtics try and get a 2nd plus expiring for Schroeder and getting a late 1st and expiring for Robert Williams.

2022 1st pick, Svi and Bonga for Williams?

Would people trade Precious and filler for Williams?

I would do Precious and 2022 1st pick (top 4 protected) for Williams and 2nd pick.

If people think Precious and Boucher are dumb, Timelord is like a whole tier below that impression. This doesn't strike me as an actual rumour because of how tough it is to trade Williams. He is valuable with that contract and age, but he's not going to be reliable or worth future assets going out.

Williams has a poison pill contract. Meaning his incoming value is no longer $3.6M. That's his outgoing value. His incoming value is his current contract averaged into this next deal. He's making $48M in his extension over 4 years. So add $3.6M to that, and average into 5 years becomes about $10.3M.

So we'd have to make up about $10.3M to send to them, but they can't receive that because his outgoing value is only $3.6M, and they want to clear the tax.

It's a tough trade to make. Easiest would be if we could get a TPE for Dragic. And then absorb Williams into that TPE. Then send them a FRP on top of that, as picks have no monetary value.

I think OKC needs to get to the base salary floor so they can take on Dragic to help us with any Williams deal. We could send out Flynn or some other small deal to Boston plus a pick while flipping Dragic to OKC maybe for cash and a future second.

Yeah OKC is the team to work with to get really creative in a trade. They may prefer to use their cap space for more than a future 2nd though. Lots of teams will be trying to duck the tax and will be trying to use OKC's cap space to do that.

Absolutely. Pretty sure the Pacers would have no interest in this though.

Beal for Simmons and one of those 2 should be done. Only reason it’s not is if Morey knows Harden is coming.

give me your closing 5? will nurse play him over GT, have OG be the sg? if not then i dont see the need for a such a big upgrade at C. healthy birch + achiuwa + barnes/OG/pascal/Boucher can get you the 48 min.

I don't disagree about the healthy Birch angle, but Birch aside from his nose has also had knee swelling all year. I don't even think it was from contact and likely a chronic issue. Even he said it is something he will have to manage. Knowing that, he hasn't been the same player. Even on his best days he is pretty much ignored on offense and he isn't big enough for true centers. Same with Achuiwa who is a non entity on offense and not a true C.

In the closing five I'd play Turner over Scottie - no question. We kind of are interchangeable, but mostly Scottie is the pseudo C with the other starters. He isn't great at it and likely needs another year of seasoning. When the playoffs come, I think a guy like Scottie gets cooked. In the playoffs, I doubt guys like Achuiwa and Birch play much because they are offensive negatives.

The Raptors are pretty much locked into a low seed, though, and so the playoffs don't matter as much. They'll all get exposed/cooked, and Scottie getting burned is not going to lower his ceiling or anything. It's really a good way to add to his laundry list of things to work on, as teams will gameplan, microadjust, etc. Turner starting ahead of him would just waste that opportunity.

Really, unless Birch absolutely can't play he's the best option. Costs nothing and is more valuable as a rotation piece than being pushed out of the rotation entirely, based on what he's owed for two more seasons. If they can use Birch's deal in an exchange where they get a more versatile/better big back (like Theis/Holmes) than that would be worth some looking at.

The only reason to use a first is to get some piece that can come off the bench for the next few years, and is more than happy to come off the bench, but is a starter quality player. Turner isn't that. He's too young, and too good.

Eric Gordon is available and can be had for cheap. Bogdan might be as well. If we walk away with those two it will be an absolute home run.

How many 1sts will Detroit give us to get out from his contract? I don't really see him as helpful because he's not going to help defend Embiid (aside from intentionally injuring him), and he'd be taking minutes from Achiuwa/Boucher.

We already have one scrub in Birch on a three year contract...

I don’t think Olynyk is a good fit for what we want to do as a team. He’s a good shooter but he’s not good at much else, isn’t athletic, can’t play D against anybody, and he’s not lengthy. He would be a guy that ends up in Nurse’s dog house when he gets cooked on rotations.
not strong, only aggresive cuz the power ain't directed/ that's why, we are subjected to the will of the oppressive

The Embiid factor aside, Olynk is a hell lot better player then you give credit .

In terms of big men:Mo Bomba is just perfect.

Poeltl would be great but spacing.

love this idea

kemba dropped like 40 earlier this year, we need someone who can score like that

noel was key for them last year too

I don't know how much Horford has regressed, but I have really liked him in the past.Winning type player, very smart. He would have been a perfect match for us.Saying that, if he can give you solid mins for around 20 mins a game, I would not mind sending out Drag,Birch and a second for Horford and a frp. Then flip Boucher and a frp(the lower of ours or Bostons) for some nice combo guard help.Hopefully young and under control.
