Trade deadline is just 7 days away

What's going to be the biggest trade of the deadline?

Who's the big name(s) that will get traded?

About to be a whole lot of nothing. I think we'll see most of fireworks this summer.

Get Embiid the help he deserves and get him that MVP.

I'm going to make a wild guess.

Jerami Grant or Harrison Barnes will go to Phoenix.

Pacers won't make any meaningful trades. Ben Simmons and Bradley Beal are going nowhere.

I don't know about the rest of the league, but for Boston I think the only "fireworks" we are going to see is trading Schroder away for a second round pick (maybe even two). Not very exciting, but definitely very appreciated.
To be honest, I will be quite surprised to see any big name player on any team get traded by the deadline. This off-season I think we will see a lot of movement, but right now, I just don't think so.

BOS already has no depth. Why would they trade their 6th man?

With the earlier trade deadline, things have been extremely quiet on the rumor front. I believe a few teams will be active as buyers and sellers this deadline.

Sellers:
Rockets - Salary shed and rebuild is in play, potential buyout with Wall if not able to move before deadline. Could see Wood and Gordon moving as well.
Pistons - Grant is the biggest name on this roster that is openly available for the right package.
Pacers - They have signaled the rebuild with putting Turner and Sabonis on the trade block.
Blazers - The small backcourt days are over as Lillard has stated he will not "rush" his return for a losing effort. Covington and McCollum should be on the move.
Kings - Bagley, Barnes and possibly Hield could be trade targets for teams looking to make post season runs. Another unfortunate ending for the Kings as they are looking in from the outside again as the season continues.
Celtics - Not sure what is going on in Beantown but the Brown and Tatum duo might not be worth the squeeze anymore as they are steadily declining in the W/L column. I wouldn't be surprised if Stevens pulled the trigger on moving one of them to plug in holes elsewhere on this roster.

Buyers:
Wizards
Bulls
Lakers
Jazz
Heat
76ers

Because he's been stinking the place up lately. Even while Boston has been putting up some really nice wins lately, Schroder pretty much always ends the game with negative numbers on the plus/minus chart. He's also keeping the C's from giving more playing time to some of their younger guys who really need to get some time on the floor.
BTW, Schroder is now more like the 8th man on the team (after J-Rich and G-Williams).

Just a quick note about Brown and Tatum - right now they are steadily increasing in the W/L column, not declining. They've both started passing the ball much better, and have looked a lot more like the players that people were hoping they would become. January was a pretty good month for both of them. (your statement would have been a lot more accurate a month ago).

It'll be a big bag of nothing. Morey is too stubborn to deal Simmons now, Sabonis less likely to be traded now that Turner is hurt and the uncertainty that comes with that, Grant is likely going nowhere. Who's left of note? Harrison Barnes I suppose but who the hell knows what the Kings are ever doing. There's just not many sellers and tons of buyers which you'd think would equate to less activity.

It's going to be a boring deadline, one of the more boring deadlines in some time. Most of the NBA fireworks happen in the offseason anyway.

It’s going to be a quiet trade deadline. Especially when I’m seeing things like the Pistons and Pacers wanting a Vucevic like deal for guys like Grant and Lavert respectively. I just think a lot of teams don’t have the heart to make the trades they should make. Too many GMs trying “win” rather than commit to a direction.

Good point, they are 7-3 over the past 10 games. Do you see this team improving or just treading with Brown and Tatum together?

Given that, do you think teams are going to want to send potentially multiple SRPs for him?

Hard to say. Througout this season we've had times when we thought the team finally turned the corner, only to see them fall back to .500 ball again. It "looks" like they are finally starting to get it together (they finally seem to have settled on an identity - tough defense), and other guys are stepping up (Robert Williams, Smart ((since coming back from Covid he's been on a major tear)), J-Rich, GWilliams). If they can keep up this new-found identity, and can learn to actually hold leads in the fourth quarter, they might make a nice move, possibly even sliding into the top four or five teams in the East by the end of the season. Also, keep in mind their coach is in his first year, and he's basically been learning as he goes along (many, many bad mistakes along the way). Hopefully he's going to start being a positive, rather than a negative as well.
So, I guess the answer is - "We'll see".

I really hope teams like Indiana and Portland pull the bandaid off. You are both not going anywhere with this current group. Execute a proper rebuild and tear it down.

It also won't happen this TDL but the I fully expect the Jazz to make a big roster move this offseason. Winning the title this year aside, that group is done as well.
