Luka was a -17 this game so it's certainly arguable. He was the culprit for the defensive mishaps all game and like KahlilS mentioned had terrible body language throughout which really affected the effort level of the team. I'm glad he himself took the blame for the loss. Self-awareness is key to the development of a star.
I love the guy but we need to also hold our star accountable as well. Too many times this board immediately blames all the role players but is dead silent when Luka makes a boneheaded mistake. Last I checked this was a Dallas Mavericks board, not a Luka Doncic Fan Club board.

We all criticized Luka for tonight defense but without him Mavs is a lottery team.
Remember that, my friend.

Agree, every comeback seemed to be when Luka was on the bench.

You did and I appreciate that.
I agree without Luka that we're a lottery team, arguably bottom 5 team with inarguably the worst future. There's times for "Lukas teammates suck, trade them all" conversations and there's times for "this loss is on Luka" conversations. As great as Luka was offensively, this loss is on him.

Instead of giving up assets... there is a "rich man's Lu Dort" (i.e., Lu Dort with better offense) available in the 2022 draft, Trevor Keels, who might even go in the 2nd round if the current mock drafts hold good.

Coach Nick dedicated a video to it

He fails to mention missing KP so muck less weakside help.

I don't think so. The whole Mavs team is sleepwalking for first 3 quarters. Luka is actually overloaded. Brunson wake up in 4th. The Mavs should stay no chance without a lucky bounce corner 3 from Bullock. But then, two decisions caused the game. Luka takes the blame. But Kidd deserves the game more. Kidd should have subbed out Luka for defense 7.6 second left. And on the other hand, the Mavs should post up Luka on isolation. OKC is over the limit already. With a touch foul, the game is done. But instead asking Luka to receive the ball in backcourt and take a contested 3 is a very poor execution plan that gives OKC no pressure at all. Remember that Luka carried the load for 4th quarters already. Asking Luka to dribble up front and take a jump and pry it go in is just not a good option.
If it were the coach, it will sub in Boban with last 4 seconds. OKC has no big body to push Boban more the post. It makes things much easier for Luka. Both ORL and OKC loss are on the Mavs sleepwalking and Kidd's inability to execute in good plan.

Luka made crucial mistake in the end, but the right question is, what were doing his teammates, who were playing 42 minutes with him, that he was -17 although he had efficient 40/6/10 with 3 steals and 3 TOs? I would expect that they can at least do something in D. Or maybe Mavs need MVP Luka in offense and D to beat Thunder at home?
+/- for 1 game is totally useless stat by the way.

Wait so his teammates are expected to clean up all his defensive miscues too?
He messed up today, plain and simple. Not just on that key defensive play but many times today. This is just not the game to blame his teammates. There's many other games for that, but not this one. It's okay for
Luka to have the blame every once in a while guys.

I disagree somewhat. The game shouldn't be that close at the end of the 4th quarter if the teammates wake up on both end.
