Not sure how much offense they’re running to the game plan, but they’re passing the ball and getting good shots and converting.

Just got beat at home by the worst team in the league percentage wise. Orlando always plays teams tough for such a young squad. The tank lives on but the players didn’t look happy losing this one.

Nice effort by rookie Terry Taylor going for 24 and 16 rebounds.
On a side note you look at the box score and Justin Holiday 5-10 for 13 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists seems like a one trick pony. For as good of shooter as he can be he seems to defer to others and doesn’t try to initiate offense rather just takes the 3 point jump shots off of a screen. Sometimes I feel like that hurts the Pacers when they need scoring. Of course LeVert can get his own shot and sometimes too often.
Tonight I thought Torrey Craig did a great job of creating offense and wish Holiday could do this. So I’m ready to go with a young 3 point shooter in place of Holiday either through trading him at the deadline or in the off season. I think he’s very valuable on a team that has a lot of scoring where he can knock down a 3 as a non primary option. Sorry Justin I like you and your good nature, but we need more aggressive play.
Love the aggressiveness Lance brings and I think he has to be one of our vet influences on next year’s roster.
I was disappointed Carlisle didn’t play him as long tonight as I thought he deserved.
Lance 5-7 for 14 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and a steal.

Many guys just aren’t initiators, but rather movement type shooters. Nothing wrong with that.

This was a game where, for once, we were the team that was just on fire from 3. I didn’t think we were playing better than Orlando, but Craig’s “en fuego” shooting from 3 just launched us to a huge lead. In the 2nd half, we came back to earth. But, I agree we should absolutely move on from Justin if we can get a decent offer, and let Duane develop as the fireball shooter off the bench, and maybe even develop Terry Taylor as the utility bench player. Not because he’s not a good player, but because we’re not at the point we need him at his age and skill set. We’re much further than that.

Levert hit some tough shots (mostly in mid range), but he couldn’t hit from behind the arc, and he couldn’t finish around the rim. Ultimately, his driving created some opportunities for guys like Taylor and Craig, but he absolutely killed us late. His defense is mostly just bad, too. I agree that it would’ve been nice to see Lance get more time. Would’ve been nice to see Sykes get more time and figure out if he’s a nice story for this year, or if he’s really a guy to count on in the future.

I think a takeaway from this game is that we really might have our 13th, 14h, and 15th roster players next year in Lance, Duane, and Taylor. Now we just need to figure out who slots in above that.

Bad loss, but Orlando is behind us in the standings, so helps the tank. Also, Houston won, and OKC is about to finish off Dallas in OT, so the tank is running strong. :dontknow:

Yes I believe we’ve got our next year’s 2-ways in Sykes and Taylor at the least and hopefully we can make payroll moves to be more flexible and fill the roster out with more experienced players. No need to rush Taylor with Brissett trying to develop.

I really like what both Pacers Forever and Scott McGoot did with their posts here. It can be rare to find two back-to-back posts pointing out the deficiencies of various players and coaches without making condemnations of them, while at the same time giving credit to the players who deserve it. I agree with basically everything in both posts.

Nice work guys.

perhaps but at the moment Sykes has a regular contract and the two ways are Washington and Taylor.

Yeah it's a talent to get a Abrams tank to spin out of control.
