Do not trade Richardson. He is the best scorer off the bench we have. He is having a great year for us and pissing off Miami and Dallas at the same time. I would trade Langford first, any day, all day.

I also don't give up on Pritchard or Nesmith this season. They are in their sophomore slump that every player goes through. If they have shone no progress this time next year, then move them, but not this year.

Trade Schroder. Add in Langford, Kanter, Bruno or Dozier in any combo needed.

Question on Bol. Do we have any rights to him next season? If not, add him in too if you can. Don't we have a qualifying offer on him?

There’s really no good trade partner out there for josh Richardson. Ideally you’d want to trade him for either substantially better shooting (while not a sieve defensively) or for someone similar in effectiveness but with more big wing size. The first option would probably require a first rounder, which we won’t give up for a team barely above .500 that wants to retool in the summer. The second option is compacted due to scarcity and the few targets out there (like Kyle Anderson for example), their teams don’t really need a josh Richardson.

Sure if you can trade jrich for some salary and a first, by all means but I seriously doubt that’s realistic. Players like Eric Gordon, Terrence Ross, Alec burks, etc will probably fill up any guard spots on teams willing to pay a first.

Dump shroder for whatever the best offer is and moving on is our boring but sensible path. Leaves Brad with plenty of tools to go to work over the summer

You can make the case that Beasley is the better individual player but it's marginal and JRich fits in perfectly with the guys on the team and what we do on the court. And he hasn't been arrested on drug and weapons charges. And Wolves fans on the GB are anxious to dump Beasley, which isn't a ringing endorsement.

The only thing Beasley does significantly better, IMO, is get up more shots. Career wise he's not even that much better of a 3pt shooter. I'd rather have Josh any day.

Im fairly certain Beasley has some decent off court issues as well, not sure how current mind you

If we beat the Nets before the trade deadline, we get to trade Schroder for Patty Mills. It's stipulated in the CBA.

Can we trade Richardson, Smart, Langford or Grant Williams, and 5 future picks for Donovan Michell? Gives Utah two quality starting caliber players, excellent defenders and locker room guys, along with one young talent and 5 picks… for their best player.

Donovan has talked a lot to the Boston Globe about the relationship he has with Brown and Tatum, going back to High school. Shades of the KG/Pierce relationship going back to high school

We’ve got to find some way to pair these three guys. Donovan can play point. He has so much respect and admiration for the Jays. Just Google it. Shades of KG/Sheed’s mutual admiration

Spida is a waste at point. Really we want him at the 2 with a big defensive guard at the 1. Mind you, we dont have the assets to pry Spida from utah without at least a demand

A trade demand, and a strong supporter on the Jazz management team (who already guided his grandson to keep wearing both Jazz and Celtics jerseys)

Fair call

It just occurred to me though, Spida wanting out so early into a max is similar to Simmons (players getting their cash and wanting to bail). Obviously Simmons is different in that he isnt being a professional in the meantime

Isn't Clarkson like a much higher paid Schroder? Utah just doesn't have much to offer unless they're deal one of their top 4 guys.

Clarkson actually performs his bench role at an elite bench level. a scorer is all he is. schroder has been good for us as a starter, but he isn't better than Smart has been for us so that's out when everyone is healthy. He's been POOP off the bench! damn near unwatchable at times. it has been such a strain on us this season, it's so wild how much better he is as a starter. there is no excuse either because he has been a bench player, he is used to coming in cold and performing at a good level. I want to say it's the injury, but he's been mostly meh all season except when starting.

edit: I haven't watched other teams, apparently Clarkson isn't good this season.

I think Ainge was planning on getting Smart and a Celtics first rounder for Mike Conley, and then flipping that package for a wing. Otherwise his pursuit of Barnes and Grant makes no sense.

what Schroder has been doing lately, I wouldn't be mad if it was for paddy cake! I hate to do this to guys who are still Cs, but I want to win and he's dragging us from our top level.

That would be the ultimate heist that Ainge would love. Conley aint getting smart, let alone smart and a 1st

Well it would have been a heist, but hopefully Smart has been playing well enough to keep his name out of the trade conversations.
