I'm happy for DD that he doesn't feel compelled to post about Khris anymore. Glad his load is that much lighter.

Tim Bontemps on the LowePost said "Bucks feel fairly confident they will get him back" in regards to Lopez. Also very strongly said they are the favorites. No idea if he is just going off the company line or if he has inside information.
ETA: Bobby Marks said give me Bucks for championship over Nets 10 out of 10 times right now. Lowe said Bucks is safest bet to win championship.

If they get Lopez back I agree 100%. And I'd also take them over the Nets without him.

Think we've had enough media guys chime in that we just have to take their word for it. Gonna be really difficult to walk this back if BroLo doesn't end up being back in time for, or at some point in the postseason. Muscala or some waiver-wire pick-up at the deadline isn't gonna cut it if he's indeed out for the year.

Nehm's latest article is "ironically" very similar to discussions we had in the past few days about the Bucks shooting less at the rim and Brook's absence in other areas. Down to the stats we mentioned.

I've been comparing Z Smith from the Packers to Lopez and figured about 3.5 months. Lopez is a much bigger man but he also doesn't have to tackle people. I don't know if they have the same issue but the progression from seeing if rest helps to surgery was almost the same.

I hope Robin gets bought out and comes here. I'd move Bobby and Grayson to the bench and let them eat against 2nd units (unless DDV turns it around and can lead the second unit). We have a bottom 8 bench (+/-) with the worst FG%, the least fouls drawn, and bottom 6 rebounding per 36.

It'd be such a huge difference if media types were starting to talk about how Lopez might not come back this year as opposed to these kind of reports reaffirming that the Bucks are still confident Brook will return in time for the playoffs.

Replacing BroLo is a dramatically taller order than getting a dude to stem the bleeding for the regular season.

And if we just need someone to eat some minutes for a bit we wouldn't need to use our very limited available assets to acquire that kind of guy. That'd allow us either to keep Donte or use him to get something else.

The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor reported this week that the Clippers, who’ve stayed afloat in the West despite long-term injuries to Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, are searching for point guard help. League sources indicate the Clips are willing to move a combination of veterans on expiring or potentially expiring contracts for an upgrade at the point; that group includes players like Serge Ibaka, Ivica Zubac (team option for 2022-23) and Nicolas Batum (player option for 2022-23) — a player in whom Washington’s had interest in the past.

Apparently Ibaka is available for trade (as well as Zubac). Maybe the Clippers could be interested in DDV as the upgrade at the guard.

Bucks trade DDV, Hood and Semi (plus the Craig trade exception) for Serge Ibaka.

I saw something that if they can move Ibaka to someone with cap space (not taking any back themselves) it saves LAC a boatload in money due to tax. I think it was something like 40 mil. Then, in theory, that team would buyout or release him and he becomes a FA for a team like MKE. Their idea was OKC would be the most likely team to do it assuming Clips paid them in picks.

Doesnt OKC have all of their picks lol. Wonder if it is more reducing the protections?

It's obviously nice having those picks and better than nothing in a rebuilding year, but OKC's war chest has to be one of the most overrated things in the NBA. None of the draft pics are any good besides their own.

Ibaka would definitely be the ideal buyout guy for this team. Fingers crossed.

Ibaka has always rubbed me the wrong way and I heard rumors is a malcontent in LAC and why they are ok with this (along with the positive tax ramifications). That said, this would be huge whether or not Brolo returns. Would allow us to keep DDV and have a pretty full roster with no clear weakness.

Yea what I read didn't have specifics. I'm sure their options are limited with how many teams actually have the space to do it and OKC is one. What I read didn't give a list of teams. I agree they have more picks than they can use. So a protection reduction or add picks from LA way down the line could be the route. Doubt LAC would give them a somewhat promising young player like say Coffey to do it. Cheap role players like that are hugely valuable for a capped team like LAC.

Although, I happened to look at Clips a week or two back when it came out PG might opt for surgery and be done for year. I thought hey could make sense to tank as much as possible and try for a top 10 pick. They owe it to OKC though. Which yea it likely only ends up 12-14ish, but considering when they made the trade they expected it to be 25-30ish that's a win. If I remember correctly, there isn't a top 3 protection either. So if Clips end up in lottery there's that small chance of getting a top pick.

DDV is way overrated. I would trade him for another body at center that fits of course. No No Robin please.

I'm definitely willing to trade him, but i just dont think his value is that high. I doubt we get better than a buyout level center (ibaka or Lopez) for DDV. Might as well get a free center, keep DDV and hope he gets better by the playoffs as a 8th-9th man.

And in that scenario if he does get better you should be able to work a better sign/trade in the summer than you'd be able to get right now.

My recurring post that I hope John Hammond views DDV, Nwora and maybe that 2nd as enough for Bamba.

That just solves so many problems this season, and gives them insurance in the summer on Brooks health and Bobby's free agency.

What would be the best possible future 1st we can even legally trade at this point? I know our draft cupboard is bare but I’m just curious. Do we have any enticing picks where we could actually land someone like Bamba without hoping a GM thinks DDV or Nwora are positive assets?

I know financially things have to match but sometimes a 1st round pick is the prize in the trade and the salary fillers can theoretically be anyone so I’m just wondering what that might look like for us…. Probably not good id imagine.
