Yeah, like replacing Stotts with Billups there is no guarantee you will get someone better for the job. Although I do think Stotts was more competent than Olshey but that just means the bar was set even lower for Cronin.

Deal got Portland under the tax… probably their primary goal and made them worse for a better pick… but yeah, in terms of a trade, this is pure trash. They should have prioritized getting a 2022 FRP to get their trade flexibility back.

Ugh, whatever… **** this season… wake me when lottery balls start falling.

This is pathetic. Honestly one of the worst trades I’ve seen in years, regardless of the team. On top of that, we gave them to a LA team. Gary Trent, and 2 firsts for basically a bust, a g league guy, Eric Bledsoe’s corpse, and a second. I feel sick.

a 19 ppg guard that plays both ways in his prime, locked in a very reasonable deal couldn’t get a first round pick? Cronin is trash… I mean straight up garbage. Ainge was looking for a job and we went with this clown? Sell the team already. This doesn’t even help us next year.

I’m not sick because I’m so checked out on this team and the league as a whole… I just kinda feel nothing for it since it’s clear this team isn’t serious about trying to get better. It’s just kinda darkly comical that they care so little about actually trying to get the best deal possible.

I completely checked out this season too, I’ve barely been watching games, but my hope was that if there was going to be a fire sale to go full tank, we would’ve gotten some actual assets.

I’ve been firmly in the keep Dame and build around him camp, but now I almost feel like we should just trade him. There’s zero rational for this trade.

It’s almost like Olshey did this trade. Bledsoe, an Olshey draft pick. Johnson, athletic g league player who can’t shoot, and reclamation project Winslow.

This is very Olsheyian.

Disagree. Olshey’s ego never would have allowed him to make this trade because of what he gave up to get both guys. He would have just held onto both guys til the bitter end.

Everyone said Cronin was the cap expert. So I can only think maybe there’s some sort of salary flexibility 4D chess here I’m not seeing… and maybe one more pick is coming this week?… or it’s just a trash panic trade.

Some people online trying to pimp the value of Blesdoe’s contract. Only 3mil of which is guaranteed this summer… so could be flipped again this week or wipes out most all of Powell’s contract

in a very real way, the Blazers traded Trevor Ariza, Rodney Hood, Gary Trent Jr. + two 1st round picks (2020 16th pick; 2021 24th pick) for Justice Winslow, Keon Johnson, and a 2nd round pick 4 drafts from now. That is mismanagement on a grand scale
