Not gonna be a good look for LeBron, but I doubt he cares at this point. Could be a bad situation for Bronny as well. Most people aren't a fan of nepotism.

This reminds me of when my dad was in DC for work while I was there on an 8th grade field trip. He told his coworkers he was going to go "surprise" me at the Capitol during his lunch. His co-workers had to tell him that most 8th grade boys would not want this and not to do it.

While my dad isn't LeBron James, I still feel like the same principle applies. Sorry, big guy.

If his son makes the NBA, I think he will be a LOT older than an 8th grade boy, so I'm not sure about the same principle applying as your specific example. It could, but the age difference is pretty large, the parent embarrassment of 13 year olds isn't really there for 19 year olds.

Also if I hadn't seen my dad for a long time and he surprised me during a trip, unless he did something embarassing, I would love it.

well he's certainly got his fathers athleticism, still too early to tell how well his game would transcend in the league though

Bronny is nowhere near as athletic as LeBron, the angle is what is decieving you there.

lebron is a full grown man, bronny is in the tenth grade and 5inches shorter
to be able to do what he's doing athletically in high school at his size is to say he inherited his fathers genetics. Thats the point i was making not he's nba ready and dunking on people at will like lebron at his apex
That's fine, he definitely got the athletic genes. I wasn't talking about comparing him to Lebron in his prime. What I'm talking about is that even for the age, he isn't a phenom athlete like Lebron was or for example, like Zion, but he is a good athlete for sure.

PlatinumState wrote:Lol at Lebron thinking he's still gonna be good in 2 years or that Bronny's gonna get signed by any team
I understand Lebron can make that a requirement but a 39 year old Lebron isnt exactly a prize pig
Does he think he's gonna throw alleys to Bronny all the way to a championship or something

Why wouldn't Lebron be good in two years? 39 year old Malone was dropping 21/8/5. Lebron is putting up 29/8/6 at 36/37 years old, now, I wouln't expect him to do that at 38/39, but what's the logic that he would no longer be good?

NBA is the king of nepotism league. Of course he is.

Unless James Dolan gives Bronny the max

Teams would draft bronny just to get lebron and sell tickets. If bronny had no connection to lebron, he packs his bags to go play in China.

He will make it just because his father is Lebron. There's no question about it.
Too much money to make, too many stories to create out of it.

Many said the same thing about MJ's sons, but neither came close to playing in the NBA. His oldest played 5yrs of college ball and it still didn't matter.

Fair enough but this is different day and age. Social media plays an even bigger role now. We'll see.

This plus the fact that there's a difference between a retired Legends son trying to make it, and that of a legend like Lebron whos still in the league, openly being willing to go anywhere that his son lands? Yeah. Teams will be interested to get ticket sells off that alone, not to mention National TV game spots. Just look at how Doc Rivers kept his son in the league early on by having him on his team. Might even stay on as some sort of coach after his playing career.

Bronny will definitely be in the NBA on nepotism alone. Just look at Wade's son. They are all fake happy because he got drafted to the jazz g league that his dad has ownership in. Lebrons status will at least get bronny that

ESPN gives Bronny more coverage than many NBA players. They are doing their part to get him drafted.

If LeMini' me wasn't Lebron's son. Noone would be talking about him

It would be fun to watch Lebron sit on the bench with ice on his knees and his kid racking up DNPs. Great marketing ploy...sure to fill the arena

This is Klutch Sports trying to up Bronny in draft standings. More than half of the league would gladly bring in LeBron since he still generates a ton of money. Bronny nowhere near the NBA level talent right now.

Could have been fine depending on how your dad would have approached it. I'd say he should have done just that, beyond the initial shame there's a great memory to be had.

If this kid is seen as a top 40 prospect in his class...he's going to make the league if he keeps developing...but as a second round pick. Nothing wrong with that.

He will probably get drafted but won't be a top player funny thing is the younger brother is going to end up the better player.

kinda obvious and gross that LeBron will be using Bronny as his tool to get on one more stacked ring chase team in a way that attempts to absolve him of all criticism for it. Bronny will be the first ever fringe 2nd round prospect that only interviews with a handful of preselected teams, Klutch will be sure to let everyone know their client will only play for these teams and anyone else is wasting their time. Bronny will end up on whichever the best team in the best market is, or in Cleveland if they continue to rise to actual contender level. LeBron will be like "oh gosh I guess I have to sign with this stacked team cause they got Bronny dang, how lucky of us! so lucky to get to play with my son!" LeBron and the actual team play, Bronny is the human victory cigar in garbage time, throws some alleyoops to his dad, everyone goes nuts

the fact that Bronny has no desirable talent to any team actually works in his favor in this regard, no small market or bad team is gonna waste their time or picks trying to call Klutchs bluff on this, if they did LeBron would just wait until that team realizes they wasted a pick and have to trade him to one of the approved teams

Every.
Single.
One.

i mean, look at how this season is going for him. would it really be that appealing to get an even older version of LeBron and his son who is probably instantly the worst player in the league as a combo deal? I don't doubt that more than a handful of teams would do it for the jersey sales or whatever but there are plenty of teams that wouldn't use 1st round draft capital on it. You can pretty much bank that LeBron is going to miss 50-75% of the games at that point and that Bronny will be essentially unplayable. given the other baggage he comes with I'm sure there are more than enough owners that would bow out of the running for that very quickly.
His season is going very well individually.
