I agree that giving them three points was a mistake. But why should a player from the bench pushing an opposing teams player while in game (even after whistle), be voided? So that means once the whistle blows for out of bounds of foul or anything, the bench players can just go in and start pushing opponents players and no biggie?

The technical on Garland also should have been voided. Play was dead. You can't T someone up for stepping on the floor after play is dead.

This call is just wrong in so many levels, it's almost incomprehensible. At least with the Nets coach interference, it can be blamed on the refs being momentarily blind. Same with the KD out of bounds.

This thread is basically about whether people are in favor of taking accountability or letting their bias push them to ignore the obvious and look for a scapegoat.

Anyway, the answer to the thread is an obvious no. Since a boneheaded individual that wasn’t even on the court contributed to the “bad” call.

If I had to list a handful of teams I couldn't possibly care less about, the Hornets and the Cavaliers would be on it.

That was an insanely bad call. You wouldn't expect that in a junior high game, let alone the NBA.

Why was Davis even attempting to interfere with the play on the court while he's not in the game, whistle or no whistle.

Lol I get that. It happens a lot with players on the court. But I’m not a fan of players from the bench coming onto the court during play (even if there is a whistle), and d**cking around with the players on the court. How is the ref supposed to know if they’re joking around or not, etc. Safe thing is a technical probably.

And especially since they ignored that BS interference from nets coach I’m sure (or I would hope) that all refs were talked to and told to keep an eye out on the bench interfering. So yea, they made a bad call here for sure, but bench dudes and coaches gotta know to leave it alone and not risk this or at worst not risk a technical. I thought the technical was on Ed Davis. Didn’t watch the game, but yea sounds like the correct would be no points, just one technical on Ed Davis even though him and rosier could be friends lol. Can’t put the ref in that situation from bench. Especially after they got called out for not doing anything about bench coach in nets game (live play or not).

I do think that people on the bench, players, coaches, cameramen, front row audience should never ever interfere with the players in the game, the ball, or set foot on the court. It should be sacred ground. Just let the game be.

If you want to foul someone on the court then be good enough to be better than a bench scrub.

This should have the same penalties as players coming off the bench and onto the court during an altercation, they should suspend that jabroni.

Going strictly by the rules as I learned them long ago, taking the shot after a dead ball is also against the rules as a delay-of-game and a technical foul can be called for that too. But I may be completely wrong about that.
