Maybe the plan is to sit KD and tank? Now would be the time. Then the NBA awards the Nets the 1st overall pick and..

Trade Idea:
NY Gets:
Rudy Gobert , Jalen Brunson

Utah gets:
Kristaps Porzingis, Mitchell Robinson, Alec Burks

Dallas gets:
Julius Randle, Miles McBride, Rudy Gay

Works on the trade checker, I imagine some draft picks would have to involved too.

That Clippers/Portland trade is insane. It must be great to have a billionaire owner.

Clippers are really putting themselves in great position to win a title. Powell is a niece piece...too bad Leonard seems to miss the whole season because the Clippers would have had a great shot at a title this year.

Haven't been able to get into playing in the trade machine for a while now but for some reason it is so fun today.

2 trades

1st trade 3 teams. NY, Sacramento, New Orleans

New Orleans in
D.Fox
Fournier
C.Metu

Sacramento in
Randle
Hart
Graham

NY in
Bagley
Expiring. QO of $14.7 w/Cap hold of $28 mil for 22-23 season. Back up for Obi for now. See if he is worth making an offer to.

Satoransky
Expiring. Waive or buy out.

J. Hayes
Due $6.8 mil and change for 22-23 season. QO of $9.2 w/Cap hold of $20 mil for 23-24 season. Back up for Mitch for now.

Alexander-Walker
Due $5 mil and change for 22-23 season. QO of $7 w/Cap hold of $15 mil for 23-24 season. See what he's got at point?

2nd trade 2 teams. NY and Boston
Boston would have to want Kemba back for this. I don't think they would do it for equal contracts but if we take Horford it saves them some money this year.

Boston in
Burks
K.Walker
Noel

NY in
Horford
Only guaranteed at $14.5 mil for 22-23 season.

Schroder
Expiring. See what he can do at point now or flip for an asset.

PG Schroder Rose Mcbride NAW
SG Grimes IQ Satoransky
SF Barrett Reddish
PF Obi Bagley 2w Samanic
C Robinson Hayes Horford Gibson 2w Sims

Play to increase the players value. Hopefully we still lose and get a decent draft position. I'd then make all assets available and try to move up for J.Smith.

Now is definitely NOT the time. :D

https://www.nba.com/news/reports-nets-acquire-james-harden-trade

"In the trade, the Nets send center Jarrett Allen and forward Taurean Prince to Cleveland, and guard Caris LeVert and forward Rodions Kurucs, as well as 3 first round draft picks (2022, 2024 and 2026) and 4 first round pick swaps (2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027) to Houston."

NY sends Mitch Robinson, Fournier, NOel, and Burks to Utah for Gobert
then
NY sends Randle and Walker to Sac for D'aron Fox and Barnes.

Leaves us with
Fox Rose
Grimes IQ
RJ Barnes
Obi Barnes
Gobert

Think that's a decent 2nd round team? Would Utah and Sac consider it? :)

I think even the nba2k AI would reject those trades.

If we traded Randle for Fox, I think we’d do fairly well. Trading for Colin Sexton would be my preference though. I do think, after all, that’s a very talented and potentially very good young team right there. RJ and Cam would be provided with p plenty of good shots and they’re capable of converting those opportunities created by Fox. The team is looking athletic, strong offensively, just about solid enough on defense and most importantly, Randle would be gone. Spacing seems okay. It’s good and definitely promising going forward. I want it to happen:

Fox, RJ, Reddish, Obi/Bagley, Mitch

or

Sexton, RJ, Reddish, Obi, Mitch

I'd rather keep Fournier than take Hield, who's just a chucker. If Randle for Fox works in the trade checker, then that's fine. We can work on getting rid of Burks and Noel in other deals. Fournier can stay for now. We can go three guard when we go small.

Randle is The Problem. He's just not right mentally. Talking about being the face of the franchise and wanting the offense to run through him even more? He can GTFO. That's delusional.

I think Hield can be the missing knock down shooter to pair and mix with our wings. He’s so deadly from three that I think it’s a different look than Fournier.

I just have this feeling they aren’t going to trade for anyone and then start talking about how strong the lineup is now and how they been playing well against sub .500 teams as a sign they can still make the playin. :banghead:

That is way too little for two productive players. I would consider Westbrook, THT - routed to a 3rd team for a decent big - and an unprotected 1st rounder for Randle, Fournier and Walker. Then we buy out Westbrook and trade Burks and Noel and run

Rose/McBride/IQ
RJ/IQ/Grimes
Reddish/RJ/Grimes
Toppin/Big (via trade)
Mitch/Simms/Gibson

and go for a high pick.

U can have 2 2nd Rd picks but not 1st Rd pick

U get off 100m/4yr contract and 3 years 60something off Fournier
