Of course you're going to mock what you don't understand, and don't care to even bother trying to comprehend.

Embiid has missed 311 team games in his career. That's 3.8 full seasons' worth of missed games. Absolutely ridiculous and almost unbelievably bad.

Jokic has missed 26 games in his entire career.

LOL, I definitely understand it, I just think advanced stats are not the end all and be all of determining who the best player is.

Here's a really charitable view on Embiid.

Even just looking at Embiid at his absolute best, vs. Jokic.

The past month, only:

Jokic: 26.3/13.4/9.7/0.7/1.5 on 88.6% FT, .429 3P%, True Shooting: 69.6%, Defensive Rating: 106.8

Embiid: 33.7/10.7/4.8/1.4/0.5 on 79.9% FT, 27.7 3P%, True Shooting: 62.2%, Defensive Rating: 105.1

I think you may be right to the extent that the folks voting for MVP may not be looking at advanced stats, and are more likely to go with the raw totals/biggest story.

I'm sure you're right. That makes a ton of sense.

Then again, Jokic put up numbers that weren't even on this level per game last year, on a slightly better team, and he nearly won Unanimous MVP.

Will never understand how a player who shoots 50% of his shots from > 10 feet away gets a higher % of his points per game from free throws than PRIME SHAQ (who was hacked because he was a bad ft shooter). You may say "Ahh, but if he shot as well as Joel, he'd have done it as well!", well...if Shaq shot BETTER than Joel Embiid from the free throw line, he STILL wouldn't be at the same % as Embiid.

So, apparently Embiid is more dominant than prime Shaq at getting to the line (on half the FGA near the rim), or he's getting officiated like he's soft as butter. Personally, based on his personality, I'd guess it's the latter

Remember when certain people were asking for the poll to be reset a few weeks ago, and Jokic rose to the top again  The man is putting together the most efficient season of all time, and you got people claiming a guy living at the free throw line is a better offensive player than him

The General Board should basically be called the Nuggets board. I don't think you all realize how obnoxious this place has become. From someone who has been on RealGM for a long time, this place is insufferable. Wasn't always that way. Hmmm, I wonder what changed? :dontknow:

Dude, you and "Hussein Fatal" are just as insufferable in your partisanism/worship of Embiid.

The difference is Jokic has actually earned the idolatry, while Embiid is, currently, merely a potential ATG player.

ty 4191 wrote:Jokic's 2020-2021 through 2021-2022 peak stands up against, arguably, anyone's best two back to back years, ever.

Consider this: Only one player in NBA History has averaged 26.5/11.9/7.9 for a single season. Oscar Robertson, 1961-1962.

Including the 2021 Playoffs, Jokic has averaged 26.5/11.9/.7.9 for the past 127 games. That's a full season and a half.

And, Oscar did while playing 44 MPG in a league that averaged 128 possessions per game.

Jokic has done if while playing only 34 MPG in a league that averaged 102 possessions per game.

You realize, most Philly fans don't even come on here, because they think y'all are ridiculous. If you want to see what other fanbases think, come on to our board. You know the one that actually has posts, as opposed to whatever you call the Nuggets board.

As good as Jokic has been he is likely to be 2nd team all nba because Embiid is likely to win mvp and be 1st team all nba.

Jokic took the fourth-most shots on the team tonight and still scored six more points than his closest teammate. Might wanna rearrange the pecking order there.

Embiid loses again while getting thoroughly outplayed by Luka…. Bulls and suns next… could be another 2 losses.

I think embiid will run out of gas.

Jokic has been losing too. Guess that doesn't count though.

I think Giannis will win it.
He's going to be the only one in the end who will combine stats with a top4 team record.
It still amazes me how Steph lost this.

Steph is going to win I bet. Warriors still look capable without Draymond and should he come back, they are basically guaranteed a top 2 record in the league. Steph is already starting to regress back to what we expect of him from 3, shooting over 43% from there in his last 5 games. You look at how historically these things are voted on, and Steph would really have to be outlier bad for the rest of the year to not win it; and I am pretty sure we are past the roughest patch we will see from him.

Jokic is playing through an injury. He was questionable for the Minesota game because of right toe injury and missed the Jazz game.
