No thx to Turner but it's interesting that you are a proponent of his considering that he's a 3/D player which is what Morris is. The difference is obviously size, but at least Morris is switchable. Turner out in space would get danced on. Also, Morris is the much better 3 point shooter - he's miles better :)

If rim protection is what you value, Mia could just play Dedmon more and not have to pay the steep price of what Turner would cost.

I'll take Wood - pause.

Beal or Dame would probably require trading Bam. I'm for it if it's for Dame.

Any player brought in a trade that's not at least 6'10 is just another lateral move on the treadmill of sameness. Miami already has the players they need.

We don't have the capital for Harden, but screwing up the Philly/Nets trade any anyway would feel like a great service

1) I don't want to see the Harden/Simmons trade go down, could only help those 2 sorry ass franchises.

2) I do think we need a move - this roster isn't correctly balanced ATM.

We can't have 8 deserving guards/wings : Lowry, Vincent, Robinson, Herro, Dipo, Strus, Martin, Jimmy.

And we only have 2.5 deserving bigs : Bam, Tucker, Dedmon (one is very old, the other is a career backup).

There's also not enough bucket getters on the roster - Herro, Dipo and Jimmy are the only ones that can go get you a bucket under pressure. Everyone else feeds off them.

Another big that can get buckets is needed, and the way to get him is to move a player or 2 from the 8 guards/wings list.

1)Haslem needs to retire asap as he does not play and the team needs the roster space. It’s unreal to me he is still on the roster.
2) Yurt is an answer as a big, even if for only the minutes Bam is not on the floor.
3) I agree with everything you said other than 2.5 bigs because I think Yurt counts.

It would be almost like defeating the knicks every time. This NBA trade deadline will be very interesting. I think Pat will do something special that we have not seen in a long time.

I doubt it, he will try but we just dont have the assets to get major things done unless we are breaking up the trio of Lowry, Butler and Bam.

Every player we have is an asset. No player is untouchable and they all have good contracts. Miami has draft picks and flexible contracts. We probably have one of the richest teams right now. But we are waiting to use those assets on a star player. We have been programmed to always think that we have no assets when in fact the opposite is true.

Amazing how year after year after year same people come here and say the Heat have no trade assets and year after year the Heat still keep making trades.

As usual we aren't making any trades either because we trust in our continuity "SPO" Mantra or we don't really win the trades proposed/or have the assets to get the ones we want.

In fairness, Mia traded for Dipo last year and for Iggie and Crowder the year prior.

Traded for Lowry in the offseason and by all accounts, tried really hard to get him at the deadline last season.

The Heat have shown in the past it doesn’t matter what the player thinks. If the Heat think you aren’t healthy enough to play, you aren’t playing.

Morris isn’t playing.

I think the Heat hide behind medical issues to not play players they no longer want. Seems that some players who end up not coming back from a "medical" issue get moved or just don't come back after their contract is over while someone like Butler who they have so much money invested in him will be allowed to play while hurt.

2 seasons ago they juggled J.Johnson and Waiters to keep them out. Last year Miami seemed to "extend" A.Bradley's recovery and ended up playing very soon after being moved to Houston.

I figured Morris back injury was serious and they maybe able to get an injury trade settlement. I think they were setting themselves up for one.

Keep your eye on Milsap.
