They ran the right play at the end, the lob to AD for the dunk, but they ran it too soon. Davis and Monk are gutted after leaving it all on the court.

AD averaging 29 pts and 12 boards the last 4 games. Sucks that they're 1-3 in that stretch.

Russ sprinting for the swipe rather than staying grounded for the double team on Reggie was the death sentence. Never ceases to amaze me that this dude is always out of position on defense when it matters.

If Monk could play defense, he'd be our 3rd best player... His statline was impressive, but kind of a mixed bag... he brought a lot of spark and scored a lot, but not very efficiently and his D was non-existent, which is probably why he ended up at a -7...
It almost feels like AD's given up on Westbrook to an extent... there's almost no synergy between them and AD just looks like he's decided he's taking over and it's up to Russ to figure it out... But he isn't... It's not a lot of fun to watch them together either...
Monk/AD and THT/AD flows better... Even THT/Monk/AD works well... And I think our best offense is THT/Monk/Melo/AD... The problem is that's it... Add leBron, and AD disappears... Add Westbrook, and the flow just dies... Bradley, Jackson, Ariza don't seem to contribute much... The only other one who's marginally successful is howard, but AD kind of disappears next to him too...
It's a really dysfunctional mix of talent, and whoever thought it would work should be looking for a job...
AD has been a beast again lately though... Only bright spot... But now it's on LeBron to figure out how not to screw that up when he comes back.

This team cannot possibly be at their best as long as Westbrook is on the court. He needs to be benched, have his minutes cut and send home for good if we can afford it. He has accomplished the remarkable feat of being a negative on offense AND defense. It's about time we stop babying his stupid ass and do what's best for the team. We need every game from here on out to build some chemistry and momentum for the play in, can't afford to waste any more time catering to Russ. He only wanted to come to LA to hang out with his kids, so send his ass home to hang with them all day every day.

I blame LBJ
For thinking he could change Westbrook and having me believe him
Some things will never change
I wish Vogel had some pop in him
Popovich would yell at Westbrook 3-5 times a game for the stupid plays he makes
I don’t even enjoy watching this team knowing he makes the dumbest decisions out there on the court
Critics you were right
LBJ can’t fix this unless he gets his friend buddy little brother traded

4 all stars and a former MVP lose to a "bench" team tonight.
AD is scoring but he's still not assertive or dominant enough to push a team over the top in a game.
This "run" is over. Recognizing it will take longer for some than others but there is not way to patch this together to actually be a contender for a championship. Father time is LeBron's biggest enemy.... Melo's too it seems. Davis will probably never play more than 55 games in a season again and Westbrook is what he's always been...
As a long time Laker fan and one that will be here for a long time I'm all for pulling the plug on this as fast as possible to get to the next era. Unfortunately, as long as LeBron is here we'll be patching together similar teams going forward until he leaves or hangs them up.
Even with the mismatched pieces effort is missing. That's inexcusable.

Wow this team is bad bad.
Worst thing is we are stuck with this old roster for years to come. Noones gonna take WB contract. LBJ isn't getting any younger. Davis is a walking injury waiting to happen. Melo is old. None of our young players is going to turn into a star. Future is looking very bleak for this franchise.

One thing I do not understand: the team started to surge when Trevor Ariza came in. He had five points and one rebound. Perhaps all the pundits are right: the Lakers have a glaring hole at the wing, and a trade in the next six days would help plug it. A better player than Ariza is at this point in his career might make all the difference from here on out, so long as he plays stout defense.

This Lakers season is hurting my heart. I've never been as angry following a team. Someone call a doctor for me.

Every one can see it. I hope the Lakers front office can as well. They have to be holding out and waiting for the Jerami Grant domino to fall. Because THT has been eligible for trades since Jan 10th.
Once Grant is traded whether it's to us or someone else, I suspect a pretty good number of follow up trades will happen.

Rough defense here. Can't blame the scheme
Can kinda blame the scheme... There's no justification for Reaves to be on an island against jackson in that scenario... Reaves has a somewhat unearned reputation on Defense and jackson was torching even AD 1:1... That needed a hard double at the arc...
Letting Jackson run to the matchup he wanted, 1:1 against Reaves is inexcusable really... And about 80% of that was on Westbrook who looked like he wanted no part in being responsible for checking Jackson...
IDK if the plan was to let him get the 2 instead of a 3? But that's pretty dumb too...
The proper scheme would have had a switch with AD on Jackson at the 3pt line and help from Reaves, after the switch with Westbrook on Mann... Force him into a contested 3 over AD or an awkward pass inside.
I mean Jackson was calling for the switch to get to Reaves all the way down the court...
Never have rice at Hanzo's house...

Exactly
And yet oddsmakers put the Clippers as 3.5 favorites before the game.
Clippers have been winning games without their 2 superstars, better roster construction? Better coaching? They bring more energy? All of the above?

Years to come? Westbrook Just have 1 more season left after this year, all the rest except for THT and AD would leave with Russ.
