It’s not all his fault, but I’d be shocked if he’s still on the team in five days.

bro i mean i thought i was crazy but when he was out there it was obvious he was just going through the motions......and i mean more than usual

He fell on the ground twice and didn't bother to even pretending that he is getting back on defense. Rather just waited until Memphis scores below their rim
If he did that to Pop his Spurs career would be just about over in that moment.

He's an example of a player who has the tools but he doesn't have the "want to" you have to want to be great.....just because you have the body that doesn't mean you're automatically going to be a good player....IMO everything can be the same about Mo but if you gave him Joakim Noah's heart/motor he would be so much better than he is now.....he's missing the intangibles....Weltham drafted him on the promise his body contained but i guess failed to see whether he has the heart and the mind for the game.....writing is on the wall, maybe it was always there

This game shows why i dont want Jabari Smith. Just more of standing and chucking jumpshots. Our offense is dead when both Carter and Bamba are only shooting 3s. Our forwards are too slow (Carter and Wagner this game), while our guards struggle finishing over length. We need to play actual ball handler instead one of WCJ/Bamba, or draft a bigger wing (Griffin) who can get to the rim.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Watching Ja run over the league this year points more and more to Ivey over anyone else in the draft. Speed, getting to the rim, handling confidently (arrogantly?) through traffic and finishing.

...his change of speed is what makes his speed so effective. RJ HAMPTON, are you watching, you have the body for this kind of thing.

Great job Cole. I hope he goes for 50 vs BOS tonight, so the league's GMs take notice and make an offer. Cole's the 3rd most valuable player on this team (asset value after our rookies) but I don't see him as our future anything.

Positivity stats of the game.

1) A very low TO performance
2) An excellent assist ration, meaning a monster assist/TO stat line
3) Orlando again got to the line a lot. And Suggs took FTs !!!!

The Grizzlies are a serious contender this year. We are the worst team in the league. They beat our behinds. No real shocker here.

Morant is excellent passer and true point guard while Ivey is more of a premium Cole Anthony.

There is more to Ja than just jumping. He is one of very, very few ever college players to put 10 apg season.
His playmaking is top tear, Memphis this year does not need him to be +10apg player but it's not hard to figure he can be that if needed.

There is also clear "freak of nature" factor in Morant. There are some crazy stories about his work ethic and how Ja, at age of 14 was able to dunk by doing crazy 800 jumps a day drill. He has that workhorse mentality. I remember talking before draft how i belive Ja will turn into better pro than Zion because Zion was born in freak's body and how his body won't hold up in nba due weight and Morant just has those integibles that can't be teached.

Ivey is elite athlete, but i would not put him into that freak category. Ja is some crazy Westbrook -Rose type, once in a decade athlete, Ivey strikes me more like Oladipo , Suggs type. Great athlete but you won't see him doing this

This is Shannon Brown, Jason RIchardson, Darrell Griffith , Lavine, Jordan therithory.

This doesn't even take in account his ridicilious fast twitch and first step.

Ivey is combo guard , he is very, very strong , at college his 3 ball is holding well. How his game will translate? Your guess is as good as mine. Could end up being smaller Brown, could end up being high end role player.
Edwards was similar prospect, he holds pretty damn well. But RJ Barrett with similar outlook isn't setting league on fire.

Maybe that was not he perfect comparison but i had weaknesses in mind. Limited decision maker, small, propably streaky shooter. If you cant play him at 1 how valueable he is ? The margin for 6'4 players is small. Matgin for 6'4 players who are not good passers is non existant.

Gotcha and agree...My hope for SG is 6'6 ideally. Griffin or Sharpe more likely if they show more/anything.

Jalen Green is listed at 6'4", 178 pounds and no one seemed to think he was undersized last year as a SG prospect, ya know?

I want to see Ivey's official measurements, but his rumored wingspan is in the 6'9" to 6'10" range. Compare that to Cole Anthony whose wingspan is only 6'4 1/2"

Ivey's also 200 lbs, so he's really not small. He's just not as tall as we may want out of a SG prospect, but the athleticism and speed pops and makes up for it in a lot of ways.

I can't say Ivey is a bad passer either. He's a poor passer if you're judging him as PG prospect, but he's pretty clearly a SG and 6.3 AST/100 and 19.8 AST% is more than acceptable for a 2.

The swing skill for me is the shooting. If he's can make threes at roughly the same volume and percentage he's been making them this season, then he's wildly valuable and definitely worth a top 5 pick.

Standing reach is more valuable than where the top of someone's head is. Nobody is blocking shots with head butts. A decent standing reach and good hops can make a 6'4 guard defend like he's 6'8.

But you gotta be careful with that too because you'll get guys like Keon Johnson last year who intentionally tanked his standing reach to put up an even more eye popping max vertical number

I think Cole played a solid game. I'm not all that impressed by Suggs' game tonight. The stats look ok but he's getting a little 'dribble-happy' as of late.

not cole or suggs fault most of the time....it's this putrid offense we run....takes forever just to start an action and we have too many breakdowns that causes cole and/or suggs to force a shot....when this season is over that should be among the first problems addressed, we need to run a real offense...preferably one that favors all the speed we have on the team, we got young legs we should be running teams out the gym....
Not to mention Cole is only in year TWO…. I mean Bamba hasn't done **** in 4 years and he still gets support. I watch Coles assist numbers the most. I’m not worried about shooting struggles with young players on a rebuilding team with a rookie HC.

Fixed.

The Pistons is worse, which is saying something.

But what makes me ill: Orlando is clearly worse than Houston and OKC. How is that true ?!?!?!? Yuck
