Looking at backup PFs between 3.2 to just under 5 mil seems to indicate Robinson isn't being shopped, basically a relatively cheap trade of multiple players for one. Could cost Miami one of Yurtseven, Strus or Vincent. Would hate to see Strus moved while keeping Robinson at his price point.

As for the PFs...
Rui for the highest upside, more of a midrange guy, pretty mobile for his size.
Washington would be a better fit currently, shoots 3s more and makes them more, slightly smaller than Rui.
Batum for the cheapest and older backup.

I'd take either Rui or Washington but would rather have Rui over Washington but it's close.

I quickly went through Japanese media and yeah he seems like a very sensitive fellow. Growing up in Japan (very closed society) as a half African American he must have gone through a lot too and the root cause might be too deep and complicated.

Fair or not, most NBA teams don't wanna deal with that for a role player though he's pretty solid.

Rui or Washington would be groomed to be the eventual starter for Miami next to Bam, both are on the 3rd year of their rookie contracts so Miami could switch their role to starter in 2 seasons when they resign them and maybe keep Tucker as a rotation guy.

Rui may be having mental issues about his place in Washington or homesick or a combination, they have a bunch of players of near the same size all fighting for minutes(after he's gotten 30+ minutes a game his first 2 years). Just looking at Washington and players that may play PF... Kuzma, Bertans(who's getting paid), Avdija, Kispert and Rui, that's a lot of players who can play SF and PF.

Here's something about Rui...

Doubt the organization elects to go into the tax for any player who doesn’t really move the needle to be honest. PJ Washington ain’t him.

Unimpressive rumors.

For a team with hopes of title contention, these names are anti intuitive

Pass on Rui and I'm not sure we can put together a package to make PJ Washington work. I've come around to the idea of shipping Duncan's underperforming ass out for the other Morris twin. May god have mercy on my soul

What are names you were realistically expecting to hear?

The Wood trade makes sense. Doesn't he make less than Dunkin? Wouldn't that help with the tight financial position Miami is in?

Surprises aside, the same cast of characters that have been circulating in the shadows ie Morris, Grant, Barnes (your personal favorite) and Wood

Who says we need to go into the tax to trade for him? Can match with any combination of Yurt,Morris, and KZ. The trade i suggested above is 5.9 in and out with enough left to sign Caleb in March.

Not sure if that is sarcasm or a case of having the wrong poster in mind, I’ve never been much of a Barnes fan lol. I would probably rather have him the next two years than Duncan though.

Hopefully LeVert keeps chucking in Cleveland because he kinda sucks. 52.3% TS the past 5 seasons yikes

I like that trade a lot for the Cavs honestly. The rich get richer and sexton may be back this season? We need to counter and make a solid addition

True. Only correction I have is that he is not half African American. He has no connection to America other than playing in the NBA. His dad is from Benin. Probably adds to the homesickness.

What was the reasoning behind us not bringing in Demar this summer? Was it because we signed Duncan and then didn’t have more the like $9M a year to offer? I can’t remember. Can you imagine though?

He wanted to get paid. Duncan was signed with bird rights so had nothing to do with it

There’s nothing out there that moves the needle for Miami outside of upgrading our PF spot for a food fit. Big time names require big time assets behind them in exchange.

I've had my criticisms for Riley for the past few years, but I can't see him wasting this year and not trying to upgrade. We are so close. And with the Nets in disarray, we honestly have a chance to make it back to the finals.

I think everyone is on the table except Jimmy, Bam, and Herro. And Herro is probably even available in certain unlikely to happen trades for superstars too.
