I love this trade. LeVert scored 42 points against the Bulls the other night. He's a real difference maker when healthy.

And the week earlier he put up 10 points on 19 FGAs and 6 FTAs. His career eFG% is 3% lower than the league average for his career, while his career TS% is 4% below the league average. Again his career best year when it comes to efficiency was his rookie year when he was just equal to league average and that is when he averaged just 8ppg. Since then he has been an efficient scorer.

the 2nd cavs acquired this year is miami's - which will be super late 2nd - so it's a non asset.

the 2nd cavs gave up is this year's houston's - which is almost a 1st.

who knows where the 27 utah pick is.

the 1st cavs gave up will almost certainly be conveyed this year.

the question is how much value will levert have next year as a trade asset? he will be an $18.8 mil expiring. seems the cavs paid picks for someone that can help them this year and to punt an expiring deal asset another season.

Indy is going full tank mode and he wont be part of their future. This will help the Cavs but help them do what? Win an extra game in the first round? So they lose in 6 instead of 5? Maybe a bit too early to trade first round picks but I like that the Cavs are going for it.

Next year he would be a good 6th man or Saxton.

The odds of getting a player as good as lavert outside the lottery arent great. Hes a very good fit with them, either starting or as a sixth man. Their core is in place with Garland/Mobley and allen, Caris is a great addition for just giving up a couple picks.

14/4/4 on bad efficiency and not good defense. That really isnt that hard to find in the league. Dont get me wrong, Im not saying LeVert is some bum or something. But ya I wouldnt give up a 1st round pick (or pretty much 2 1st round picks) for him. And finding players better than LeVert outside of the lotto isnt all that rare.

I think this a pretty good trade on both sides. Cavs definitely could use him so maybe he takes a lesser role and his efficiency rises.

The "hell no" is giving up a FRP for an expiring UFA Nurkic (you guys didn't even get that for BOTH RoCo & Powell with mulitple years) and TOR has been linked far longer to Turner than Nurk. But yes I won't continue to derail this thread just responding to your initial post that brought it up. Just saying if the Raps gave up a FRP they'd likely just try to cut POR out of the deal and get a player who will actually be around next year and fits the long, defensive prototypes that the franchise clearly favors.

I think he'll be more efficient when not having to be a primary option, which is the case with the Cavs. He's had to deal with several injuries, but is finally coming into his own. This year has been his breakout season, & we got him for a fair deal. I can't complain tbh.
