Re: Nets @ Chicken Nuggets 3:30 PM EST.
We're now in 7th place, and we most likely fall to 8th once Boston blows us out on Tuesday.
8 straight losses overall and Kyrie is all smiles. That tells you all you need to know.
I hope Joe Tsai enjoys that fat luxury tax bill while he lets Sean Marks continue to play this game with Steve Nash.

Do I have any faith in Nash to make the right adjustments and win?
Why should I?
This team is LOST. We are playing far below our talent level. Roster is NOT the problem.
Roster has some flaws. It only functions when we have our full squad. The lack of shooting is the NO 1 issue.
75% of this team's salary cap is out with injury.
I think Harden is not except a minor right hand injury. We will find out soon enough. Him not being on the bench is a cause for concern.

We were in 1st place on Christmas and we had two excellent road wins before New Years.
Then Kyrie came back and the team just inexplicably fell off a cliff.

If we are in the play in tournament it will be interesting to see how the top two seeds jostle their spots

Harden's hand injury may be 'minor,' but the quote from the other day was that he couldn't even feel his hand when he woke up. I don't know how anyone thinks he's ready to go soon after hearing that.
IMO Beard needs as much rest as he can for the playoffs after being overused so much the past two seasons, repeatedly flaring up one injury and now creating another.
HOU famously learned a couple seasons ago what happens when you overplay Harden, and it's like Nash never heard about it. Not to mention that he's aging out of his prime now, and therefore more injury-prone statistically.
IMO Marks took a hefty gamble signing an aging KD coming off a very serious injury, and made out like a bandit on that one. I wonder how often he thinks that kind of thing's going to keep happening, tho.

Of the remaining 29 games. Kyrie can only play in 10 of them.. Trade this bum already.

I have to believe the only reason he's not traded is because of KD. At some point some blame has to go to KD as well for what's happening. I love KD but how long will before KD stops putting his friend above the team and winning??

No disrespect intended, but you sound exactly like I did 20 years ago. The Nets didn't have a great offense as it was, and I was dumbfounded by Thorn trading our best offensive player for a guy who could put up triple doubles if he somehow managed to actually get 10 points. I thought it was a bad fit and a big mistake.
History tells me I was a basketball idiot back then. That guy turned the team around and established a strong defensive up tempo identity.
I'm not saying Simmons will have a Kidd like impact, but we could transform into an up tempo team and actually see the offense improve by virtue of getting more transition buckets.

You’re comparing Jason Kidd to Ben Simmons? You got it…

Kidd shot 3's at a good clip whereas Simmons refuses to shoot. Simmons needs as much spacing as Harden but we can address that I suppose.

Re: Nets @ Chicken Nuggets 3:30 PM EST.
Simmons' problem is his psychological issues regarding jump shooting from the field and the line. Dude was literally terrified to shoot FTs. Every other facet of his game is pretty much elite.

Re: Nets @ Chicken Nuggets 3:30 PM EST.
I don't blame James Harden if he sits out for awhile. Kyrie isn't playing again until Feb. 26th. Why should he kill himself to carry this crap roster Marks built when Kyrie is healthy and sitting at home?
KD is a clown for tolerating this crap.

It's even worse, tho.
Imagine having a disappointing playoffs due to issues like these, then seeing other people as the problem, going on a season-long pout, and doubling down every chance there was an olive branch or opportunity to put the past behind him.
It sounds a lot to me like Rich Paul is essentially enabling the guy's prima donna nature and fear of the big stage or whatever it is. First thing he really needed was a sports psychologist, but IIRC he's typically refused that avenue.
Would be fun to see Simmons traded for Kyrie, not Harden. That way you don't increase your headcase count, you get someone who wants to play, probably wants to prove lots of people wrong, and bonus pts for the entertainment of watching KD's reaction, locked in to his new contract.
