Delusional moves to try and get Sobonis. This team under Ted is utterly clueless. Watch us give up Kispert, Rui, and Deni (only 3 players worth watching on the team) for the right to max Sabonis in two years (along with a super max of Beal). I hate Ted.

Wiz get TWO very good young Gs on rookie deals.

76ers get TWO big pieces to make a title run now.

Kings get the all-star they've wanted.

Thoughts?

Kings have been resolute on not moving Haliburton for Simmons and I'd be absolutely shocked if the Sixers used Maxey as the sweetener to turn Simmons in to Beal (yes Barnes is there but he's redundant with Harris still around).

For all we know, Beal might be out for multiple weeks unless he miraculously gets better when and if Sabonis arrives.

I don't think they can trade a 1st round pick unless they remove the protections of the 2023 1st that OKC holds.

This year's 1st rounder CAN'T be traded either way.

So two first rounders + Trez, plus an asset to OKC to release the restrictions.

What's the market rate for getting a third team to cooperate? A future 2RP? Straight cash?

Don't get me wrong: I'd rather we traded Beal and did the hard rebuild.

But if a) we're committed to remaining competitive, and b) we can get OKC to play ball for relatively little in return, then a deal to acquire Sabonis without parting with our young Fs is a decent win-now move. We can then focus on trading for a two-way playmaking PG.

SUPERBALLMAN wrote:Fox 's game reminds me of Wall, plus he's younger, and paid less. If Beal with Wall was good, then maybe we could have something with Beal & Fox.

Also Sacramento needs forwards which is our area with depth to deal, and their depth is PG which is our need, so maybe we can help each other out.

Harrell is for salary, and it's an expiring, so it's basically Rui, Deni, Kispert for Fox. Fox is 24 and signed the next 3 seasons. Maybe it would take less, maybe we can keep Deni for example? But I doubt it. But if so then great....

I just think Fox, Beal, Kuzma could be something to build on. Dinwiddie slides to a combo G off the bench role.

I like the speed of a Fox, Beal, KCP, Kuz, Gafford starting 5. Bryant, Bertans, Dinwiddie off the bench, maybe Bertans and Dinwiddie can rehab their value.

Btw, this would be the type of move I'd be looking at if we're keeping Beal, which I hope we don't.

I would hope we would move Dinwiddie in this situation - I don't think he would be good coming off the bench.

Fox also plays D - and that helps, he takes on the best guard every night. I don't think you will need to move all three of Rui, Deni and Kispert for Fox - more like two of the three or 1 of them and Bertans - but then you are probably moving a pick.

Either way, they have the PGs we need and we have the forwards they need. Holding on to Kispert, Deni, Avdija, Bertans, Kuz and Rui is basically nuts - especially with a coach that likes to play two ball handling guards whenever possible (although he seems to have changed a bit).

Corey Kispert was born to play for the Pacers. White guy, short shorts, headband, first name Corey. It was always going to be Utah, Indiana, or Boston for him.

Right, I forgot, so everybody under 24 is gone just to satisfy Beal or they need a three-way deal so another team can jump in and offer their first this or next season,

Oh, I'm just going off of the aforementioned report.

"A package of players including Montrezl Harrell" could also include Deni, Rui, Kuzma, and Kispert. Of course, I'm hoping that's not the case.

That said, playing around with the trade checker, I'm guessing we'd have to include at least one of our young Fs on rookie year deals, along with another contract.

In baseball, they can trade 'future considerations' to get around some restrictions on trades. Can't they do that in basketball? And then just have the considerations be the player we pick this year in the draft.

So probably Bryant & Harrell & 2 1sts for Sabonis? I don't think OKC would need a ton of incentive to get an unprotected pick from us. They'd probably want another 2nd tho.

It's not gonna work unless they address the PG situation too.

We could take Favors back and send them expirings. They shave off Favors' contract for next year for Bryant's expiring.

Exactly this^ Nothing changes w/o dumping Dinwiddie first, so I hope that is part of the equation. This entire situation smells like we're about to be Grunfelded.

I am not opposed to a trade for Sabonis. In fact, having Sabonis, Kuzma, Avdija, Gafford, and Hach would make make for some good front court players that could work well both offensively and defensively. If the cost is two 1sts + Harrell to see if the experiment works, I think that's worth it. If the experiment doesnt work, then we can trade Beal and recover the two 1sts we spent.

I don't mind waiting until the offseason to solve the PG dilemma. We'll get a better pick this year if we wait.

Dat2U wrote:If the Wizards are intent on keeping Beal and it seems as if they are, it would behoove them to pivot from discussions regarding Sabonis/Grant and remedy to PG situation immediately. Abhorrent play from Dinwiddie and no real threat from the position leaves the team rudderless. Neto does not have the talent to compensate and Holiday is clearly not the answer either. Beal has shown he's an improved passer but does not necessarily posses the decision making or comfort level that comes with being a PG and he pounds the rock far too much. He needs lead guard alongside him to get the most out his game.

When we had John Wall, Beal and Wall repeatedly called themselves the best backcourt in the NBA and they 49 wins one year (ignore all the years prior or after, ha). But then I think it was Beal who started the 'everybody eats' thing, wasn't it?

They clearly need better play from Dinwiddie or whoever else is playing next to Beal. No idea what kind of player that guy should be though.

It's too bad Beal can't go back to the kind of player he was when we had Wall. Played off the ball and hit 3's consistently. Now he holds the ball, even though he can't do that without turning it over too much, and he can't hit 3's anymore.

Dinwiddie
Harrell
Bertans
Kispert

For

Wall
Wood

Rockets get from under wall n get some trade pieces
We give Beal the proper point guard and wall the perfect center for once, kuzma rui and deni a good young forward combination wood can also play forward

Wall
Beal
Kuzma
Rui
Wood

Holiday
Kcp
Deni
Bryant
Gafford
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft
mike, hakeem and Barkley on the same team!!!!

...but the attempted moves are all about re-building around Brad before the Summer... although Brad may possibly be placated by any kind of "activity" that will justify him hanging around as a Super Max player, I believe that is what he really wants.
