Just watched RJ’s highlights again and it looked even better the second time. Every single score is a thing of beauty. He’s turning into something special

On the twelfth day of bitchmas my GM gave to me....
twelve second round picks
eleven thousand boos pipin'
ten fans bridge leapin'
nine SOTN dancin'
eight shot clocks milkin'
seven Randle's spinnin'
six missed a layin'
five fingers no rings
four wasting youth
three useless vets
two injured PGs
and a pariah on a long deal

Nah see, Slick Rick had that accent so to me it's normal, plus a lot of them just sound like they trying to speak patois. You really like the singing rappers, you would have def been a Tim Vocals fan back in the day, he birthed this whole lane of singing sweetly about murdering you

Tim Vocals. Wow. Been a minute since I seen his name. One of Harlem’s underrated the past decade.

around 18min macri and jeremy get pretty heated. jon starts yammering on about washing dishes and how tom has forgotten more about basketball in the 1800s than we'll ever know etc. he does very much seem intent on dying on tom's hill, alone. thankfully jeremy diffuses his madness with some rational arguments but overall very entertaining will watch again

Macri's argument really makes little sense though....I mean fans always know less about what is going on in and around a basketball club. If you repeat the argument "Thibs may know stuff that we don't know about", same could be extended to the owner, FO, players etc. then, as a fan you have very little ground to criticize anything or anyboday because said person (whether player, FO, Coach, president) may have more information to his disposal than we do.

So this guy macri (first time ever listening to him prolly won't again) loves Thibs bc "he gets them to try, and that's all I can ask" Is he forreal? Says he has some flaws and hes not perfect yet his main point he drives home is lack of talent like the overall fan base isn't dead obvious about that.
The young white boy cohen I think his name was brought up some great points and this guy macri just keeps regurgitating his same tired speech about "we dont know if xyz would of worked bc we cant know"... Well genius maybe if we played less of atrocious Kemba walker and less of Noel aka "I'm just here to get my one block a game and do nothing else". You think we might of had a better chance to win? Maybe try some lob attempts for a guy that converts at an insane percentage?
You think maybe we'd have a better record(even if just slightly) if we reduced Randle's minutes and rode with Obi when he was productive as a MF... ?
Nope let's just keep trotting out Kemba, Fournier, Randle in the starting lineup every single game. Mind numbingly asinine. The thibs defenders at this point are insufferable. Cling to most lifeless arguments

Re: GT: Knicks @ Jazz - Monday @ 9 PM
The issue with an older and old school coach like Thibs is if it's working it's hard to criticize but of course if it's not working it's easy to criticize.
There's less reason to be patient as a fan because he relies so much on vets that if the team isn't winning there's no hope derived from the losing since the younger players aren't getting the burn.
He may have forgotten more basketball than we'll ever know but maybe he forgot too much. There's no changing the old dog he's shown there's few new tricks for him.

Both Macri and Cohen make good points but their debate kind of goes nowhere because Macri is basically addressing the most extreme Thibs critics - the people who overrate the talent on this roster and use Thibs as a scapegoat for holding our players back - and Cohen responds to it as if it were as a counterpoint to his argument, which is a lot more nuanced and perfectly reasonable.
However, what Macri says from about 38:20 to 40:20 is pretty wise.
Macri delivers his message clumsily to say the least, and some of the points he makes are a bit weird if not nonsensical, but as he rightly points out the biggest issue is the lack of talent on this roster, including the lack of a competent point guard, as has been the case for most of the past 20 years.
I'm no Thibs fan, and he obviously hasn't done a good job coaching this team this year, particularly when it comes to (not) holding Randle accountable, but he's far from our biggest issue. It's just easier to blame an old-school coach than it is to face the fact that we're rooting for a team that isn't good and doesn't have a promising talent base. Thibs hasn't always played his cards well, but there's no hidden magic formula, especially with Rose out. The notion that he's above criticism because he knows basketball more than any fan would is pretty nonsensical though.

Macri and Cohen are pretty solid. Macri WILL defend Thibs, but in about the half dozen of these I've listened to all the way to completion, and maybe another 6 skipped around in, Macri is critical of him as well. Sure, he may lean towards defending him at times, but maybe not as much as a couple of posters here are under the impression.
I wouldn't discount their podcast. It's pretty good. Especially when they timestamp the content and you can skip right to the topic you want to hear and not try to attempt to listen to 90 minutes while trying to get stuff done.

No I agree, their podcast is really good.
This was a good listen, I just think they weren't arguing or responding to exactly the same point there, which muddied that part of the conversation a bit, but it was still an insightful debate.

Enough blame to go around. Thibs has been bad, management has been worse. We all kinda know who Thibs is, and management put him in this position. Of course he is going to play his favorites heavy minutes and play his style.

Julius Randle
On court
ORTG 107.6
DRTG 112.7
Off court
ORTG 114.9
DRTG 104.6
Pretty obvious why Marci doesn't like Randle this year, anyone without Trashcat colored goggles can see it.
