Other articles say Spurs asking price for Poeltl is a 1st AND quality player.

Would this be for him to play backup C? Seems a lot to be worth a first and a rotation guy. What is his skill set?

Someone posted elsewhere - our teams rebounding is a major issue. Poeltl lead the league in offensive rebounds last year. Seems pretty solid in other areas too

Poetl would be a backup C. Not a priority, and certainly not for our precious POR pick.

backup C is as much of an issue to me as not having a proper 4

I love poeltl's numbers this year

The Spurs would also laugh at that offer. It would take a couple of legitimately good assets to acquire Poeltl. The whole thing just doesn’t make sense.

Is there potential for a deal centered around Larry Nance Jr and the Portland first? Any players you don't need?

I was at "YES", but read over the weekend that he had a injury recovery setback with no timetable for a return. That doesn't sound good for a guy who has had a history of injury issues.

I’d do Oregon Duck Troy Brown Jr. and the first for Nance.

Edit: Nooo! Not with that post sco just made.

So now we have been rebuffed by both BOS (for Schroder) and SAS (for Poetl). Keep grinding, AKME.

I suspect Nance isn't playing because the Blazers are tanking. A month ago he got an MRI that showed "no significant damage to right knee."

I went back and checked my weekend recollection, and I was a little off in terms of tone. Here's what I saw (below), but still, Nance has not been durable over his career.

IMO, any Nance deal would likely involve POR's pick back plus TBJ, plus all of our vet min guys not named Ayo to make the salaries work. I might consider Coby in that deal instead of the 1st, but then would want Mclemore back.

FWIW, TBJ works straight up on trade checker.

doesn't work ESPN trade machine. Says we need to add another $4.2M to deal.
