Nice to see them digging a hole before KD returns

This slide all depends on how long Durant is out for. But they wouldn't be a fun first round opponent as a lower seed with Durant and at least one of Harden/Kyrie in the mix.

You're in a conference with Giannis, Durant and Embid. Which of your players is going to be better than any of those guys someday? If you dont have that guy, i dont understand the win-now moves. They are ahead of schedule based on everything i've heard from fans of the team and media. Why push it? I feel like this is just limiting their ceiling. We have seen that you can package multiple late 1sts for a needle mover but you get one opportunity like that.

Here.. let me translate this for Gen Z:

This is like, low key Tobias for JJ.

Is this simply a cash grab from the very top? Hook the fans, let em believe, see what happens? I dont get it.

I like their core a lot. And given how shuffled all the contenders have been the past two years, they’ve got a punchers chance of making the Finals. Not a fan of Levert, but can’t find fault with the deal.

The Zion-less Pelicans are about to move into 10th in the West (with a 21-32 record )

I think LaVert is fool's gold but the pick they traded is slotted at 25 right now so I don't think this is any blow your load type deal. More of a whatever type move.

Too bad Portland will start tanking. The Lakers couldve been in trouble.

They're too good and too far ahead for fall below 10th. The bottom of the West is pretty bad/medicore. If the standings stay as is you'd have the Pels getting the last play-in spot with a 32-50 record :-?

Apparently the Bucks and Cavs talked about Donte.

Cleveland was one of the most active teams in the trade market, considering other players, including Houston veteran Eric Gordon, Milwaukee’s Donte DiVincenzo and San Antonio guard Derrick White, among a bigger list of names. But given LeVert’s age, talent, contract situation and skill set, members of the organization believed he was the best fit.

I would've preferred White over LeVert if I were the Cavs.

Cleveland’s core is fantastic. I imagine it being like young versions of Dame Lillard, Dikembe Mutumbo and Chris Bosh all teamed up.

Cleveland's in an amazing spot. Mobley is the key for them moving forward. If he can become that top 10 player he has shown the potential to be, they'll be in a really good spot for the next decade.

Out of that group I think Cleveland got the best one for them. White and Garland doesn’t seem like a good fit to me but he’s definitely a good player. For Cleveland Levert > Gordon > White > DDV

Interesting to think Dontes name came up considering Cleveland was offering a lotto protected 1st. That’s good value for him if we can parlay that value into an immediate roster upgrade.

Cleveland gets a FRP back, too, so it's not so bad.

So LeVert had their kind of suckiness? That's what made him a good fit?

I like Jarret Allen, but no way will he ever be in Mutombo's class.

Ehhh. Before this season I would’ve said Jarrett Allen would never be an all star in the league and here we are. Granted he wasn’t selected but he was more than deserving and he’s on a trajectory now that’s pushing him into that tier. Point is, another year from now and Allen is still playing at this level, he will be in a class of great young bigs.

I'm not sure I go that far, but I can tell you that I would be so frustrated watching him play if I were a Mavs fan. He's a chucker with absolutely atrocious shot selection.

It definitely won’t helped being coached by someone who still thinks it’s 1999 and is absolutely fine with that shot selection.

Some of you on this board seriously overrate the Cavs. The Cavs are a good solid playoff team, but holy **** lol. They're not better than Miami and like soxperry said, unless they acquire a Giannis/Embiid/KD level player their ceiling will be limited. Mobley is good, but I highly doubt he reaches MVP level good like Giannis/Embiid/KD..

I don't see any way the Cavs make it out of the first round of the playoffs this season unless they end up playing the Bulls.
