Might be a lose lose, but we don't know until we see what the Hawks pick with that pick. Reminds me of DSJ, player with more talent than you would think having his career irreparably ruined by being traded to the Knicks

Why would the Knicks trade for him if Thibs didn't want him? What was there to be gained?

Cam Reddish isn't very good, but has the potential to be ok. It was weird how much attention was given for that deal.

The Knicks giving up a first rounder for him and not playing him at all is odd.

The Knicks are back to their old ways. How the **** do you give up assets to trade for a player your coach doesn't want to play? Good god

I thought they won it to begin with. Never understood why Reddish was viewed so highly by some.

I mean, we're talking addition by subtraction here aren't we? So yeah, I'd say they won the trade given that it was with the New York "subtraction by addition" Knicks.

Lose-Lose. The best Atlanta players over the years have been non-Atlanta draft picks

its the Knicks.

It has been reported multiple times that Reddish is recovering from a minor injury and his play time will be limited.

I doubt that's why he's not playing. If it were, they would've indicated as much rather than fielding the constant 'why're you not playing him' questions.

On Reddish, he'll do better on his next team. He needs to be on a team not trying to win (let that sink in). Needs development, not to be placed in a limited role - which is what both the Hawks and Knicks had/have for him currently.

Caveat there is, if the Knicks pivot away from their vets (and towards rebuilding), Reddish will be good for them.

Most of the knicks board is fine with it and think Reddish is some sort of long term boon or something and doesn't even need playing time right now. I think thibs said theres basicly no room on the roster to play him. Arguably the knicks are setting up space for him next season or are preparing for another trade deadline deal where they move some of their rotational players.

Listen, I made a deleted meme on the knicks board making light of the situation so...it is weird. I'm not sure if this was all part of the plan or its a colossal eff up to be honest. Most people on the knicks board, and I'm mean they're homers, but they know what's going on with the knicks kind of think it's fine. At least that's my impression.

They have the Knicks pick, isnt that a win-lose? Or do you mean the best players are when Atlanta trades for some other team's rookies?

The Hawks definitely won the trade. We got rid of a guy that wanted to be traded and was playing hero iso ball on the 2nd unit and wouldn't play any defense. Our team is much better without him plus we get a first round pick in the process. Win/win.

Cam can still develop to be a star but he needs to be where he can get 30 minutes a game and a high usage. He's not getting that in Atlanta or NYK. He needs to go to a tanking team to soak up minutes/usage to see if he can fully develop.

The dysfunction continues. To think that a front office would make a move without being on the same page as their coach.

This reminds me of the scene from Money Ball. The GM signs the players that he wants but the manager just refuses to play them.

Ya you can definitely tell this is a massive gap between front office and coach on this one. It seems like Thibs made it pretty clear from the get go that he had no plans on playing Cam.

The fun times when after a few good Reddish games the Mavs officially lost the Luka trade
