At least Russ made this team watchable and was a leader on the floor who brought it every night. He helped Gafford tremendously.

Russ back after a buyout playing on the minimum isn't the worst thing in the world till we can find a PG of the future.

It'd be #SOWIZARDS but entertaining with the fukkery it would entail until April-May.

It reeks of desperation. Basically, it's a last-ditch effort to appease Beal. Maybe Beal is happy for 2 months and we squeak into the play-in. We then get swept in the first round but Beal magnanimously signs a supermax in the offseason. We suck again next year and Beal agitates to be traded, but by then, his value is more like Westbrook's or Wiggins' because of the size of his contract.

Much better to just trade Beal now.

But, heck, I'm for anything that doesn't result in us trading away Avdija, future firsts, or removing the protections on our pick.

A better record by .01% after a mad dash to finish the season as the 8th seed.

Of course its desperation. The Dinwiddie signing was a bust, there's no starting PG on the roster.

Ted Leonsis is not trading Beal, no matter how much we want it or how prudent it will be.

Our future is Beal on the 10-year max... and.... and.... and.... cause this franchise can't find cornerstones in the draft beyond the top 3.

Wow, what a very harsh reality that is.

Only way to get out of this rut is to try and force Ted to sell. We're never going to win with him as owner unless we just get lucky in the draft with the 11-16th pick. All he cares about is sports gambling and getting a little playoff money.

Keep Westbrook's sorry ass away from DC. He stinks.

Portland is in tank mode, and are looking to rebuild. Is Lillard a possible get? He commands $39.3M and has 4 years left. He is also 31y.o. If we give them, not one, but two tank commanders in Bertans and Dinwiddie, and maybe Hachimura…sprinkle in some picks… would that move the needle?

Well put.

Unfortunately, the most likely trade will be for Jerami Grant. & the most likely cost will involve Avdija -- maybe Bryant too.

Just waiting for the other foot to fall....

I really don't think they'll go after Grant. I think Kuzma has made Grant redundant and Sheppard is smart enough to know this. Besides, Grant doesn't really move the needle on the "convince Beal to stay" meter. Grant isn't a #2 option. He's, at best a #3.

I definitely could see them overpaying for Sabonis. They could fall in love with the notion that Sabonis and Beal make the perfect pick-and-roll partnership to anchor a team. They may even be right. The problem is, the cost to acquire Sabonis will make it impossible to build a competent team around them. If your top 2 players are merely second tier, borderline All-Stars rather than legit All-NBA guys, you damn well better have above-average players at other positions to support them. We don't and we won't have the picks or cap room to find them. It's a strategy destined to fail.

I can't believe we are being held hostage by Bradley mofo Beal.

I also don't see Jerami Grant moving the needle for us.
I'm just hoping that we don't shoot for a guy like Sabonis and end up with Grant. That would be deflating. In an already DEFLATING year.

:o Ok, Tommy is doing some work if this is true
Of course I'll do the happy dance if he trades for Jalen Smith...

I would keep Jalen Deni Rui and Kispert

The easiest trade in the world would be something simple like sending Thomas Bryant to the Suns for Jalen Smith.
