Boston has been looking for another impact scorer as it considers moving Schröder, and its talks with Minnesota about exchanging Josh Richardson for Malik Beasley are gaining steam once again, league sources tell The Athletic. Minnesota turned down an offer of Richardson and one of Langford or Nesmith earlier this year and would not be interested in just Richardson alone, per sources. But they are warming up to making a smaller move like this, as acquiring Ben Simmons or another star becomes less likely.

After averaging 20 points per game in his first two injury-interrupted seasons with the Wolves, Beasley is down to 12.3 points a night on just 37.8 percent shooting from the field. Minnesota is hopeful Beasley’s shooting will turn around and he will go back to being a crucial sixth man for the Timberwolves’ playoff run, but Richardson provides them with a more balanced option, and Jaylen Nowell’s ascension has made Beasley expendable at his $16 million salary. The move makes less basketball sense for Boston, unless Stevens’ front office believes Beasley’s shot is about to come back. But it does at the very least consolidate more salary into one player as the Celtics look to make a big trade in the offseason.

Dallas remains invested in retaining both Jalen Brunson and Dorian Finney-Smith, despite wide-ranging interest in both Mavericks. The Pistons are believed to have particular interest in Brunson, and Detroit can make a strong offer for the point guard in free agency to pair alongside Cade Cunningham—similar to his fit next to Luka Doncic.

I'd have some interest in NAW if we could get him for Schroder or similar...

If Brad can get NAW for Schroder they should build a statue for him. Those dumbass deals only seem to happen with Ujiri at the wheel.

I would not trade the store for Beal. I just don't think he is a great fit, and even if he plays well the Cs would still be a brick shy of a load, and deep into luxury tax hell.

Sabonis, on the other hand, is closer to what we need. A terrific passing and rebounding big who can also score. For the next two years after this one the salary is low enough to keep up out of the luxury tax, which will give Wyc something to fantasize about. It would mean the earliest we hit the dreaded repeater tax is the 27-28 season. I can see a starting unit of Rob--Sabonis--Tatum--Brown--Smart raising hell and putting us in immediate contention.

What could we offer? Well, Indiana wants to dump contracts and get prospects and, especially future no. 1 picks.

I'm not a fan of Beasley. I don't see how Richardson for Beasley helps. I think of a lot of things when it comes to Malik Beasley and impact scorer doesn't top the list.

I have interest in both NAW (loved him in the draft) and Hart.

Hart is an ideal guy on this team and would take him over Josh (and I reallllly like Josh)

I generally don't like to trade away this much future for the present, but it might be time to roll the dice.

Interesting! What I like about this is that it pretty much keeps our current team in tact, but adds a really good player. It also lets us use a 9 man-rotation (assuming Ime would actually use the new guys). It gets rid of Schroder (who would be gone later anyway), and it doesn't really change much of the chemistry that the team has been building.
On the other hand 3 first-round picks????? I do like Sabonis, but is he really worth 3 frp????

It's a good deal if the Celts can get DiVincenzo for Dennis.

DiVicenzo is a legit SG that can make 3s and is also a very good defender.

I'm not a fan of Beasley. I don't see how Richardson for Beasley helps. I think of a lot of things when it comes to Malik Beasley and impact scorer doesn't top the list.

I think Richardson for Beasley is an absolute downgrade.

Richardson is shooting better and defends miles better.

If the Celtics get a 3rd star they're going to need the full Horford deal and Richardson to make salaries work. Since they have zero interest in moving Smart. Richardson has value around the league. That was a good offseason trade.

is equivalent to moving the chairs around on the deck of the ship. Hopefully Brad Stevens has something else up his sleeve.

I like the idea of trade #2 if all they want is Schroder. DDV is an upgrade in a vacuum and we would have his RFA rights.
