I get why LaMelo made it, but I really don’t think their on-court value has been close, regardless of what the box score and box score-based metrics would suggest. Jrue rates literally near the top of the league in almost every impact metric and it matches the eye test, we roll teams with him on court.

If anyone else should’ve gotten the injury replacement spot besides Jrue should’ve been Jarrett Allen imo.

I’m just so frustrated.

Honestly between 1 and 10 there are only 9 games. 1 to 8 is only 5 games and only 12 spots. Its really tight. All 10 of those teams now have at least one representative and the teams ranked 2 and 3 have two reps which to me seems entirely appropriate. Only thing is it should be Jrue not Midds as our second.

Today was Brook's appointment in LA. I'm sure we won't get an actual update but hopefully it went well.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Looks like Monroe will be with us for the season especially if Brook returns. No other trade of note is likely I am thinking.

Brown not making the ASG saved Boston money. They are now only 1.3 mil above the tax which means they can just unload one of their min guys and use some cash instead of giving up value.

That said Bucks seem to have offered nothing more than Hill and salary relief for Dennis which now isn’t a thing for the Celtics. Yeah we move on. Wouldn’t use Donte for Schroder.

I hope we find a way to turn Donte into value. Getting a FRP for example would allow us to trade 3 FRPs in the off-season which should get us a really good player.

Sure they could get a pick, but why trade a rotation player when we need all of them we can get this season. If you’re trading Donte, you need to get a player back that improves the team this season.

thats almost zero value, so basically a player who makes around the combined salary of those players and who will be released anyway.

interesting..

Simmons was talking up grant williams big time in his layest pod. saying he hopes they keep him now sonce he has learned to shoot the corner 3.

The DDV situation is so fluid. So many possibilities.

I never thought of Williams, but he is a defensive combo forward and he's shooting 43% from 3. At the very least, I'm relieved we're working to address our biggest weakness.

I hope they send us Rob Williams by accident.

Would rather have Grant Williams than Schroder. Maybe Nwora and a future 2nd is enticing enough for them?

I don't know why they would be inclined to throw Williams into a deal with us but I can definitely see why Horst would be asking for him.

I could totally believe that us asking for Williams to be in a Donte/Schroder swap is what killed those talks for the moment. Bucks looking for a little more value for Donte and Celtics resistant to give up too much.

Who does it benefit to leak the Donte for Schroder + Grant Williams trade talk?

In the latest development of Boston's Dennis Schroder talks, the Celtics and Bucks have discussed a framework that would send Schroder to Milwaukee in exchange for Donte DiVincenzo, sources said. The Bucks have also expressed interest in landing Grant Williams in that scenario.

Meh, might be one of those times where it's just information that leaked, not really to the benefit anyone.

Would it need to be a FRP in a particular year (with only certain protections attached), or how would this work exactly?

If the Bucks feel confidant we can sign a more substantial piece/s like Thaddeus Young once buyout season gets going it'd be different than if we'd be leaving holes on our rotation of course.

Keith Smith tweeted that Bucks discussed Donte for Dennis swap and what killed talks was we wanted Williams added and they don’t want to part with him

Good, would rather keep Donte's RFA rights for a potential offseason sign & trade anyways. You wouldn't even have bird rights with Schroder so without including Williams the value just isn't there.
