Depends on how many picks they sent to Portland but another logical trade that felt inevitable imo. I would actually like the Pelicans squad if they could take back the dumb Devonte Graham deal and retained Lonzo instead. CJ and Graham doesn't really fit as backcourt. Really hope Zion can make it back fully healthy for them. Otherwise they'll be ok but ultimately a treadmill team.

Assuming Zion is healthy enough next season, a starting-5 of Graham/CJ/Ingram/Zion/Val? That team is gonna give up 130 every single game....

agreed. what's their angle here? they're gathering assets but who can they realistically get to go there? I think Dame is on the way out in the off season. He deserves better and portland should just blow it up.

Think their angle is that Dame all but informed the front office that he wants to move on in the offseason. They'll shut him down for the rest of the year, then work together on figuring out a good destination for both parties. Seems like he's always alluded to in the media that he doesn't want this to turn into a toxic Harden situation. Portland can still get a massive haul for him in 4 months, and Dame comes out of it still looking loyal to the franchise ala KG being dealt to Boston in 2007.

He's in this deal presumably as an asset for the Pels so I don't think that's happening.
