Depends on the Draft compensation, but honestly, I like it for New Orleans. CJ McCollum is a solid veteran who fits well with their core pieces.

If there's real value in the draft picks going to Portland I have it as a clear win for them. Even if there's not value to them it feel fine enough for them.

Is this a positive sign for New Orleans that Zion might be coming back soon?

Rumor someone posted to the Blazer board last night had two FRPs in it. I couldn't believe it, still can't, but who knows at this point...

CJ is a great leadership personality for the young team, and they don't have any other huge contracts. That is about the most I can say, New Orleans as a franchise doesn't seem to want to wait around for the organic growth of a team.

It'll be one of Satoransky or Graham, probably Sato. After that it's actually not that hard, either Hayes or Temple would be enough, and the Pels have a big TPE if they want to take another player back. We shall see!

They took a rookie (Keon) over a pick and taking a young player in NAW over probably some other kind of small pick. Kind of move you would make if u consider taking Simmons.

Is there any FA worth them looking at? They suddenly have a path to a lot of space. I like a Nurk trade from here. If they just resign Nurk and Simons I don’t think that’s a better team.

Good point - one I missed. Woj has always been very prideful about being the best news breaker in basketball. Back when he worked for Yahoo, a superstar player (I forget who) was on the verge of making a big announcement, and big bucks ESPN sent out about a dozen insiders and personalities. Woj broke the story. Right after, he reportedly ran down the halls of the hotel where they were all staying, screaming at those “bleeping ESPN corporate bleeps,” about how he could scoop them all single-handedly!

He always had a vendetta against ESPN, but when Yahoo faltered, it made me sad that even Woj could be bought by Disney Corp. I still think though that he takes great pride in being the guy to break stories, and now that you mention it, I wonder if he had half this story and was waiting for it to become official before he announced it. Shams is really good, and Woj probably sees him as a threat - we all benefit if those two compete.
