I think it’s us trying to drive up DDV’s value

IMO the way it's being talked about is backwards -- this is a DDV for Williams trade from the Bucks end. Schroeder is a convenient salary. I don't think either team has particularly strong interest in Schroeder, and the Celtics aren't interested in moving Williams, which is why this isn't going to happen.

Why tho? We don’t need that player you’re looking for because with Bamba, we have that guy who’s a consistent motor and a greater talent already. Moving Bobby to the bench in favor of a more “Brook-esque” center allows us that flexibility. If we can get consistent 15-20mpg from Bamba, that’s all we need and I’m 100% positive that a young guy like Bamba getting out of the basement and onto a contender is the motivation he needs to become more consistently reliable. DDV and Nwora would already be in Orlando if it were up to me..

Equally important, it gives you Bird rights to a center, in case Lopez doesn't come back next year or Bobby gets a massive offer we can't or don't match.

Love this idea.
Word around the league is when Knicks president Leon Rose moved to strike a deal with Atlanta on Jan. 15, the head coach wasn’t all-in on the move.
“From my understanding, Thibs didn’t want him and they did it anyway,’’ said an NBA source who has been in contact with Knicks brass.

Hope they keep the asking price for White Donte too high to pull the trigger. He's going to be an xfactor in the playoffs.
Also hoping they don't trade Nwora either. He's looking stronger & playing with poise.

Agree. With Bamba the talent and need are there. I'm sure playing on this team where the generational superstar has one of the highest motors in the league will help elevate his own.

I think that's a possibility but I'd put it way below 100%, below 50% even. Asking a leopard to change his spots.
For 10-15 minutes playing the drop? I could certainly see him being effective. I could also see him being indecisive and not engaged enough, and bombing terribly.
Over the weekend, Boston offered Schröder to Milwaukee for Donte DiVincenzo, which the Bucks countered asking for Grant Williams, sources with knowledge of the discussions told The Athletic. Though sources said the Celtics balked at the offer, the teams continue to explore frameworks that include Williams.
Considering Williams is younger, healthier and playing better than DiVincenzo, it would be difficult to find a deal that makes sense. Williams has become the team’s key reserve big this season, becoming one of the league’s top corner shooters and making notable strides as a defender in Udoka’s switching defensive scheme. Boston could seek to include Romeo Langford or Aaron Nesmith, whose trade value has been akin to a moderate sweetener around the core piece of the deal. Bringing in a young wing who has proven he can be an impact rotation player when healthy makes giving up on a former lottery pick much more palatable, though DiVincenzo is hitting restricted free agency this summer.
