Re: Around the NBA- 2020/2021 Edition
Looks like it's going to be Hart, Satoransky, one of NAW or Hayes and draft picks for McCollum.
Pretty much a salary dump. Definitely ends the potential pursuit for the Magic of Simons this summer though.

I'm interested seeing how Zion, CJ and Ingram play when Zion is back. I'll be keeping an eye on the Pels next season.

if Portland is in on Simons though, NAW or Hart should be available from them for cheap. maybe toss them a future 2nd.

It's Hart Satoransky NAW Louzada a 2022 1st and a 2 future 2nd's for McCollum, Nance & Snell. Portland now has an EASY path to create MAX slot in FA.
A scoring guard.. never heard of one.

I like this deal for Portland more than I thought I would because at least now they have options.
They can either aggressively start a full scale rebuild OR they can try and retool around Lillard next season.

Crazy how much more Blazers could have gotten from McCullum if they traded him in last two years .

Wow Haliburton? I mean we are over here stressing about our roster and the Kings just traded probably their best/ most promising player

Well, it makes sense, they have a star at PG, so it's better to trade the promising one for another star at 5.

Re: Around the NBA- 2020/2021 Edition
Damian Lillard is already 31 y/o.
He needs to bounce to a championship-caliber team asap.
I know these guys can be winners into their mid-30's but I've always felt that 28-32 y/o is that real prime age and it's downhill from there.
Love the guy but I hope we don't try to trade for him, simply because of his age.

Interesting. I wonder if he did that to tank any potential trades - even though Washington have openly said they want to keep him and will work to his wishes?
So are the Wizards and Pacers now chasing the Eastern tank race? Weak year to be doing it, but they could position themselves for top 5 odds still at this point.

Damn, Haliburton is a better PG than anyone in our team and the kings let him go by Sabonis, Holiday and Lamb. That is a week return... you don't trade youth like that... Haliburton can shoot, pass, defend. Dude's going to run the East next year.

I'm big Haliburton fan, been posting about him since last year. That said, i'm not sure how much he can expend his game, his dribbling is bit off, he is elite spot up shooter but he does not create much for himself.
I think he is more in line with Jrue Holiday & Brogdon than some superstar PGs. That's still hellofa player but people now blow him out of proportions.
Both Sabonis and Hali are high character guys so there shouldn't be much of drama. Race for West playin will be fun, Blazers should slip, Pelicans raise, Spurs and Kings are in mix, T wolves, Lakers, Clippers don't play anything special right now.

Re: Around the NBA- 2020/2021 Edition
I never thought I could root for a "superteam"...but if crybaby Harden forces his way out of BRK, I pray that Kyrie runs to get his vax and Simmons is the Finals MVP. Amazing that a guy can basically go on a one man tank job (for the second time in two years) in the same paragraph as calculating his next contract...the largest one in NBA history. I like player empowerment and all that, but not a fan of his style or professionalism.

NY is stopping the mandate for people at schools to wear masks. I think they'll stop the vaccine requirements for city venues soon.Skybox wrote:I never thought I could root for a "superteam"...but if crybaby Harden forces his way out of BRK, I pray that Kyrie runs to get his vax and Simmons is the Finals MVP. I hope the Simmons/Harden deal happens and I hope the NBA goes hard after Morey and Philly for tampering. It's obscene how they have orchestrated this Harden dilemma to force Brooklyn's hand.

Really? wow... I wonder how they convinced Kyrie to go all nut-job to make the BKN team dysfunctional. Harden probably went to BKN so he would have help in KD and Kyrie... I don't think he signed up to play in the sage-smelling arena Kyrie was voodoo-dancing...
