There is way too much attachment to young players these days. Guy scores more than 10 points in a game and guys are calling him untouchable. It's a bit ridiculous. Sabonis is the best player in this trade and is likely to remain that way going forward.

The kings said Haliburton was untouchable for Simmons. I would honestly rather have Simmons than Sabonis.
Meh Simmons is a headcase

They have a pretty nice squad honestly. I LOVE Hali but him and Fox were redundant and it didn't seem like Fox was gonna net them anythign this good.

Holmes/Sabonis/Jones/Len
Sabonis/Bagley
Barnes/Lamb/Harkless
Davis/Holiday/Mitchell
Fox/Mitchell

Theyre two games out of the play-in and that squad has two all-star level players and some really nice supporting pieces. Not a contender but they could get out of the play-in with that team for sure.

Guess the Kings feel they can maximize Sabonis at PF better than the Pacers with Turner. This move has to have some type of follow up

The Kings had a really nice piece in Haliburton oozing with potential. I just don't see why the Kings would make this trade. I don't think it makes them better. Sabonis is a solid player and has played well however he isn't a first option on a team that is going deep in the playoffs.

I think it would have been more logical for the Kings to retain Haliburton and build around him by drafting well (for once).

I think the trade is a win for the Pacers as they moved guys they were going to move and got Haliburton is return.

Step 1: Trade a future star guard on a rookie contract for Sabonis + busted pieces

Step 2: ?????

Step 3: Profit?

I couldn’t see Halliburton as the centerpiece of a championship team. He has that tuxedo form on his jump shot like Kevin Martin. Maybe they had flashbacks. Sacramento made the right call. Sabonis seems like the better player, and they get Lamb and Holiday with a 1st rounder. They did well.

Not this season, no. He signed an extension which means he can't be moved until next year at the earliest IIRC.

Seems to be a good amount of activity for the deadline for it still being a couple days away. Thursday should be real fun.

I think Kings should of built around Halliburton and traded Fox. Poor decision in my opinion.

I like this for the Kings actually.

Sabonis is legit.

Yes he's a very good player, but what is he going to do for Sacramento? Make them good enough to be a high-lottery team? What's their plan here?

I also assume Bagley gets moved by the deadline as well after this.

tbf, pacers aren't trying to get better. Their goal is to rebuild and they just got a promising young player in just this second season. Plus they can flip Buddy Hield to a contender if possible.

What does this trade really do for either team? I don't think it makes them significantly worse or better. Meh.

Why are people so low on sabonis? He’s one of the best bigs in the game.

My thoughts exactly. Lateral moves if anything.

Looks like it, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them wait until the off-season for him. Brogdon, Haliburton and Duarte is a bit of a logjam.

I'm expecting the Kings to be making another move after this. They need a better starting shooting guard unless they plan to move Davion Mitchell into that Marcus Smart role. As much as it would piss Kings fans off, it wouldn't surprise me to see Richaun Holmes moved next. If they can get Jerami Grant out of Holmes and Bagley, I can see them pulling the trigger.
