Wolves and Sixers probably send a pick or two each to Brooklyn. Philly is getting the best player by far and Brooklyn doesn't want Simmons when they are already dealing with the headache called Kyrie. Harden probably doesn't want to come here, but if he demands to go to PHI to be reunited with Morey, then we might be one of the few teams with the pieces that BKN wants (veteran depth on moveable contracts). They also get off of Harris' contract, who is getting $18m for his 11 PPG and will hinder them chasing after another star for KD. They would have lots of cap space and some picks from MIN & PHI to make more moves.

You have MIN sending out $44M in contracts and receiving close to $73M in return. Not happening...and I want nothing to do with Harris and his contract anyways.

I think its Joe Harris

Just watched it. Not really my kind of humor, but did have some good lines mixed in. I give it a 5/10.

Ouch. Lighten up Francis. You just went Big Toe on Ol' Yeller.

Going big toe is taking leadership, ol’ Yeller in this context means crying. So I lead you to cry by acting like a psycho? ;) ;) ;)

Nice to see you getting with the spirit of the show. I was using Big Toe as in where Sgt. Hulka was about to place the Big Toe.

So your saying I stuck my foot up a dog’s bum because I am psycho? You need some perspective. I recommend watching either Bicentennial Man or Life as a House. Both are excellent films.

LMAO
Red Foreman and Al Bundy are heroes of mine.
Only if a quote from those is pertinent to the REALGM Wolves conversation. I may have seen Bicentennial Man. I'll give them a look.

Netflix is coming out with a "that 90's show" with Red and Kitty as grandparents.
Red is my favorite and its from the original producers, but I'm skeptical with Netflix being Netflix.

There are a couple big differences between the Simmons and Butler situations:

1. Contract length
Butler had one year left, SImmons has 4.

2. The Reason they wanted out.
Butler didn't think he could win here.
Simmons feel scapegoated by his superstar teammate and coach to the point those relationships are irreconcilable.

Point 1 shows that Butler had a great deal more leverage. If Simmons was expiring he probably would have been traded by now.

I think most people will have sometime in their working life a job that for some reason is toxic.
Boss, money, hours, commute, coworkers, stress, health, environment, whatever combination of reasons.
Imagine being locked into that job for 4 more years.
Wouldn't you be planning an exit strategy?

That's all this is for Simmons. An exit strategy.
Reading mental health issues into it is a mistake.
I'd be more concerned about his back and history of physical injuries.
The minute he steps back on the court for the Sixers he's locked into a situation he doesn't want to be in for 4 more years, because he is at that moment more valuable to the Sixers than anything he would realistically bring back in trade.

Was the mental health stuff a bad move? Probably. It was probably a ploy to try to keep his paychecks.
He's stood on principle and given up a great deal of money already.
I will take how SImmons has handled it over how Butler handled it and how Harden handled it.
Harden flat out tried to be awful on the court. Butler went after his coach and teammates and burned down the team.
How well would Philly be doing right now with SImmons screaming at teammates and pulling the Mark Madsen 3 point routine?

Eric better have ended up with Donna. If he didn't that's messed up.

It sure looks like the deadline landing spots for Simmons are drying up today, with IND, SAC and POR making these trades.

I'd be thrilled if we got him on the cheap. He is a difference maker.

I do think if the Twolves get Simmons the deal comes with Harris. Because that type of deal where Twolves give 76ers a couple of expiring contracts gives Morey a pathway to nab Harden in the summer plus giving Philadelphia a couple of players to help Embiid out for their 2022 title chase.

Here’s another interesting take by someone on the trade board.

SAC said they wouldn’t put Halliburton on the table for Simmons, but they traded him for Sabonis.

I think many people overvalue Simmons, or don’t consider all the risk he carries.

Philly wishes Simmons’ value was worth even half of what they think it is.

Wow Halliburton is a very good player. I think just based on talent the trade was equal. However, Indi has Brogdon so they traded a glut at center for a glut at PG.

He is a difference maker for them because he refuses to play for them. No other team in the NBA has mistreated Simmons the way Philly did. I don't think any other team would have a problem with him.

Shrink you seek out every opportunity to take a cheap shot at Simmons and then act hurt when somebody calls you a Simmons hater. Give it a break. You are a Simmons hater.

No, I don’t like people dismissing anyone’s statements by classifying them with an ad hominem attack. I know this has become incredibly common in the media these days, dismissing what people say by labeling them, but it has been a fallacy since the time of Socrates, and we can do better than that.
