Why not? Its better than having nothing. Gallo is a walking bucket.

More like he'll walk to the 3pt line and then walk back on defense? 10 pts on 38.7% from 3 is hardly a "walking bucket".
Not to say I wouldn't take him on the team, just sayin' "walking bucket" makes it sound like he's some sort of 3 level scorer.
He takes over half his shots from 3 and 90% of them are assisted. So...yeah, he's a spot up shooter, that's about it.

Gallinari isn't Kevin Durant, but he'd be a big boost to the bench that could use some offensive fire power. If I can replace a guy who is literally giving you zero with Gallinari I'd be fine with it. He's got 1 year left after this too so it's not even like you'd be saddled into some garbage contract. Of course I'd prefer Bogdanovic but it takes two to tango and I think Hawks would let go of Danilo first. If they even want to dump either of them, as much as we speculate over their cap situation like they might have to, Gallo is a big piece of their bench and that's part of their success too.

They just never learn man. Just made a consolidation trade in the middle of their rebuild. Do they even have any flexibility left?

Fox/Mitchell/Barnes/Sabonis/Holmes?
Davis/Lamb/Harkless/Bagley/Len?

Is this what they're trying to do?
This is what they're committing to?
Play in tournament for the next 3 years, congrats.

Gallo isn't a complete zero. But he really doesn't address too many issues for us. Neither a ball handler, nor a big (really). He's a spot up 3pt threat, that's it. Is that really our biggest need? I dno. Better than nothing, but it barely helps.

Gallinari would feel like a last resort trade.....he's old, doesn't play elite defense.....basically doesn't fit with the Raptors identity

The Kings have clearly lost their minds;
Maybe we can sneak in and grab Holmes + ?

Definitely doesn't address a biggest need, but it's something. I just feel like we gotta put into perspective the hand we're playing with. Our chip is a guy who doesn't want to be here, is likely to be bought out if a trade doesn't materialize, and is likely washed. What can we realistically expect from that?

Its not ideal,
But it gets the job done for next season.

With the tax line moving up as much as it is, we could exercise Gallo's option, use the full MLE, and sign our FRP and still have around 5 - 7m under the line.

Having a large expiring (in theory) is always nice to have.

Gallo is a net negative out there. It's better than Svi or Yuta and not let our starters burn to the ground but he isn't good.

I think at the moment the plan is to sign Beal to that ridiculous contract this summer then spend the next five seasons having any potential ability to improve themselves be stifled by that very contract.

Forget Gallo, I’d rather get Nurkic if the Turner deal is off the table

Maybe I am wrong, but I thought Sabonis is clearly the best player in the trade and they got him without moving Barnes or Fox. With Davion Mitchell playing better, I can see why they moved on from the surplus of guards. They have been trying to dump Hield for years.

To me, NBA fans are too fixated on guards being the stars of the NBA. Sabonis is a rare player who you can run an offense through and the Kings needs a frontcourt guy. Hali is a nice PG, but I don't think he gets close to the level of production from Sabonis.

Atlanta needs to decide wtf they are doing. Like sell your players now you aint getting any big name you might as well get some picks and go to free agency

Yeah it is a punt type of move. I'm not against it but hope for better.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I mean, you can do Boucher/Svi/Flynn and a pick of some kind for Holmes and still have ammo with Dragic and whatever other sweetener to go get at least one guard. Boucher has been very good lately but it's tempting.
