Brogdon is 29. He's not part of that future core (which may or may not include Turner).

I like this for the Kings. Sabonis is a great all-around player and the fact that the Kings keep their draft capital intact is great (although they tend to screw up with their picks)

I don't think it's so much the talent equality that people are giving this deal **** for, it's because it's once again an example of the Kings making a trade which implies they're ready to be competitive now which couldn't really be further from the truth.

honestly I’m really surprised that the Kings made a good move. Sabonis is a good player, and Kings should be excited.

I understand what you are trying to say, but trading away Siakam would nowhere be this bad. Siakam is a finished product, who was a little big of a failure after his big contract, while Haliburton is one of the best young players win the league with a totally unique skillset and combination of size and shooting ability. It's absolutely dumb to trade him, but if you do, you better get a top 5 pick in return for this year.

Makes sense, and the direction or state of the team matters when evaluating something like this. It's just that the idea that Davion Mitchell would play any significant role in a willingness to give up Haliburton - that's scary. He's a decent young player but that's all unless/until he shows even some flashes of being something more.

They got an all star type of the player in return , with Haliburton who knows, with his tiny build and messed up three point technique.

I'm honestly kinda shocked Haliburton is viewed this highly by fans. I have always thought questions about his frame and athleticism limited his ceiling as a Brogdon type fringe allstar. I honestly think this was a fair trade by both teams as Sabonis is still pretty young and is a proven all star himself.

I'm in the minority, but I love this trade for both teams. Sabonis is a star & will help the Kings a ton. They still have Fox & Mitchell. That's a good core moving forward.

Love this for the Pacers too, but this trade isn't lopsided at all.

Nobody's saying Sabonis isn't a really good player. It's just that Sacramento gave up the one thing they shouldn't have given up to get him, Haliburton still on his rookie deal

two equally bad treadmill teams traded major players

on the surface it looks like indy got more pazzazz, but what did hield and haliburton ever do for sac, they've been a f'ing 30win team

in a year that's essentially been a growth year for many teams, a coming out party so to speak, sac and indy remained treadmill.

i'm not sure why you are getting upset about my opinion.

I'm not upset, I'm just reacting to a bad take on a forum. Pretty standard stuff.

martin was an analytical darling who never really made a huge impact on teams wins/losses. i see haliburton the same way.

It's not like they haven't given us, what, 30-plus years of reasons to do so. Plus, it's more mocking than hating. The latter is usually reserved for teams that actually do stuff.

That said, I rarely watch the Pacers, but Sabonis usually seems pretty damn good whenever I do. So I don't disagree with your premise.

So the Kings look at Indy and see the mediocre fit between Sabonis and Turner and think: how can we make this worse?

Sabonis and Holmes seem like a terrible fit. Holmes is worse shooter and worse defender than Turner. Is there a follow up trade in the works to move Holmes because this seems stupid.
