Nice try (I guess?)
I wish Fultz the best but he just seems snakebit, Marcus Morris' contract almost seems like a safer bet than Fultz. Also, Fultz is more of a SG or combo guy, which we don't need.

Re: Eric Bledsoe traded?
We now have committed $156.3M to 10 players for next year, assuming we pick up Zubac's $7.5M option.
If we were to resign Batum ($10.5M), Covington ($12M), Hartenstein ($3.5M), Coffey ($6.7M) that would be $189M with still an open roster spot. If lux tax threshold is indeed $147M as expected that would be an $188.5M tax bill!
That's $377M total payrol, equal to basically two NFL teams.

And now we're already at well over $100M in lux tax. I think that's how we were able to steal Norman Powell for peanuts--no other team could absorb that kind of hit and Portland desperately needed to move him to get UNDER the tax.

The whole Buss family fortune is around $500M--they could never blow so much cash on such a speculative roster move. But Ballmer's worth $70 billion--he can only afford to do this for another 700 YEARS!!

Re: Eric Bledsoe traded?
New Orleans has gone 20-20 since they started 1-12. I think their overall record (21-32) due to their poor start has made many see them as a poor team, but if you played them after game 13 of the season, you were playing a 500 team, not a bottom of the league team.
I wonder what Portland's plan is actually. Are these moves to build around Dame? Are they tearing it down and rebuilding, meaning Dame will be traded too?

The LAC FO: Ninjas in the Night
https://www.latimes.com/sports/story/2022-02-08/nba-trade-deadline-lakers-clippers-potential-moves
"AG: The Clippers pride themselves on operating in silence — one league source once said it has been described within their building as “ninjas in the night” — so speculation can often lead to dead ends. Yet there is an expectation around the league that their three-center rotation, which has not truly worked all that well for anyone involved, will be resolved with a center expected to be gone. Serge Ibaka’s the most likely candidate because of his expiring salary, but there are scenarios, team president Lawrence Frank has said, where he returns. Some around the league take that to mean that there are scenarios where potentially Ivica Zubac could be packaged and sent elsewhere as part of a bigger move."

I think the our reputation for secrecy and confidentiality is a very positive attribute and driver in trade talks. It shields other teams from potential issues when players hear their names in potential deals that don't go own, and it allows front offices to pursue and close deals that they know may not be well-received. It's just one less (big) thing for teams to worry about when they talk to us.

VERY good point. And afterward the Clippers don't crow about what a steal they just got either.

Re: Eric Bledsoe traded?
After the Domatis trade, i wonder if the Kings are willing to pay Holmes to be a backup, while needing a stretch 4.
I'm thinking RoCo for Holmes + SRP for Morris for Holmes + Metu
SAC gets a starting level stretch PF in either trade. If Ibaka had more wheels, he coulda been an option, but i think SAC would want someone younger.
LAC gets a solid starting or backup C. Gives the team the ability to use Zubac as trade filler at the deadline or offseason, while still having a competent starting C on the books next year.

Re: Eric Bledsoe traded?
i mean you always expect the team to be looking to improve but to pretty much say they're doing so, right next to the deadline, can't feel too good for some of the potential movees

Re: Eric Bledsoe traded?
I wonder what our chances are of attracting Dragic post-buyout. Everyone says Dallas but he would step right into our starting lineup, Dallas just picked up Dinwiddie to go along with Brunson.
Dragic is old, so still plenty of minutes for Reggie as combo guard backup.

Its a good point that Dinwiddie arriving in Dal likely makes the Mavs much less attractive to a FA Dragic

Very high, as all he'll have to beat out if RJax for the starting PG spot. If Dragic isnt confident enough to beat out RJax then he wasnt worth the time anyway.
