it's smoke screen season.
i wouldn't believe anything unless Woj or Shams is tweeting it, or a very in-tune local reporter with a reputation.

He may be reading the tea leaves so to speak. Smitty noted that Harden looked good in shoot-around today but is now scratched. Add in Embiid posting some cryptic tweets like 30min ago (after this guy's tweet to be fair) and you can start to see some potential smoke. Or Embiid is just messing with everyone ha.
There's also the fact that Springer is not playing his G-League game today with no announced reason, which could be any (ranked in order of likelihood) of:
1. No trade related reason at all
2. He's about to be traded
3. Some other trade is going down where the Sixers will be short-handed tonight and need Springer up with the big club
But I agree this person's report is nothing to take seriously right now.

Totally agree although that was sort of my question. Who is this guy? Is he a very in-tune local reporter with a reputation? Doesn't seem like it but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything if someone has heard of him before.

99% a nobody. When you google this guy's name, all that comes up is his twitter, and a reddit thread for this very tweet posted to the Sixers sub a half hour ago, with everyone trying to figure out who the **** he is

Re: Thoughts in General, Rumors, etc 5.0
I wonder if Dallas would have any interest in a swap around Fournier & Bullock? Whether now or over the summer.
Reggie doesn't seem to have settled in with the Mavs, and if we sell Burks over the next few days, I'd rather have Bullock around to help RJ teach our other young wings (Reddish, Grimes, & Quickley) than Fournier...especially if the FO does something at the point. Would help our defense and there wouldn't be as much salary pressure to give him PT if the kids start outplaying him.
But I have no clue what the mavs situation is, so dunno if there's a way to make the math work even if they were interested, which is why I'm asking here.

Some speculation of Hart to a 3rd team. I wonder if a Harden for Simmons+Green+? type deal loops in NOP/POR and Portland trades Hart for Green+ with BKN getting Hart.

Reggie is better than Evan and paid significantly less, no reason whatsoever for Dallas to consider this. You just want the Knicks to come away at the Mavs expense

Re: Thoughts in General, Rumors, etc 5.0
Bullock has been terrific for Dallas. Why do people think otherwise? Im guessing it's looking at his shooting for the year but he's been shooting as expected again.
And with Timmy under contract longterm as an offensive 2 swapping Bullock for Fournier seems like the wrong move.

As much as I wish it were Wood, feels like Holmes for PJ Washington and Plumlee is pretty obvious now

Moving this here:
I think there is an interesting question here, albeit obviously the original poll question wasn't a topic one for here.
What happened that led to Haliburton being traded
1) GM is not at fault it is an owner issue: Owner wants win now and GM is following orders as that is his job
2) GM is at fault, owner is blameless: GM wants win now to save his job and win and the owner didn't block it.
3) Both GM and owner want to mortgage the future even though it is stupid and they should be patient: Both at fault
As well as the positive spin on those 3 options:
4) Owner brilliantly improved team, gutsy leadership starts at the top.
5) GM brilliantly improved the team, McNair is a genius.
6) Both GM and owner get an immediate better player and improve the teams short run and long run outlook given Sabonis age and the perceived ceiling of Haliburton; Kings look to be on the upswing.
If we are going the negative storyline, and I don't mind picking one of those, I lean more 1 or 3 than 2 personally.

There’s one ********* player on the team you don’t trade. And he traded him.
I hope he is fired ASAP.
Don’t let this clown pick a coach.
This is why Sac can’t have nice things.
Unbelievable.

Reggie is a better defender & cheaper, which is why I want him back...but Fournier is the better offensive player, even if Bullock gets back into the form he was in last year. I have a lot of love for Reggie, but when he has to put the ball on the court he has about as much of a chance at scoring against NBA defenders as I do.
...which is fine for who he is, but it's why he's paid less than players like Fournier, Hield, & THJr. But I understand that adding another one of those guys when you've already got Timmy, may not be the most tempting proposition. So what would you be looking for from a third team? Or am I wrong in thinking that Reggie hasn't exactly thrived for you (so far)?

This is a case of slinging mud and hoping one sticks, kinda like Arye Abraham a few summers back.
I mean, he said Clips would be selling to save money and, was way off there, not even in the stratosphere

He has, he's been a big part of their better play. I'd like to see him remaining in the starting lineup even when maxi returns. I like Dallas 1-3, they could potentially find a better 4 than DFS and I'd love to part ways with KP

Read somewhere that Cleveland called the Clips about Kennard before completing the LeVert deal, wonder what that conversation was about, or if it even went past the intro.
