Does Sato + NO FRP work for Grant money wise?

****.

Portland is gonna blow good assets on a fools gold player. Of course this is what their plan is.

I do remember Dame said he wanted Portland to sign Grant when he was a FA, so this would track... but if they give up that NOP pick for him and then have to overpay to keep him... ugh.

I mean, if the goal was to build a more balanced team with better defenders turning our guard glut into two versatile, defending forwards in Hart and Grant isnt anything to scoff at IMO.

Maybe the Pistons like the long-term fit of NAW?

Bledsoe + 2022 PDX SRP + 2 Future NO SRP for Grant
NAW for TPE

Yeah, Grant is a role player on a good team, closer to the level of Powell than a significant upgrade worth trading for and then paying like a legit #2

This is what I think will happen for any team that trades for him, which is why I'm hoping like crazy that isn't the Blazers... but I fear it will be.

Too much smoke. Cronin looks much leakier than Olshey (for all his flaws) ever was

I dont really care how much Grant demands in 2023, I care about the cost. If they want the NO FRP, I dont like it.

If they accept Bledsoe + SRPs for Grant w/ a 2nd trade of Keon or NAW for Lyles, I am game. Figure the finances out summer 2023.

Pistons have set the price for Grant at at least one FRP, so I would be shocked if they'd let him go for what you're suggesting.

The second problem here is that Grant would essentially be the big "get" for all these moves the Blazers have made. If the idea is to pair Dame with another player of his caliber, this isn't it. Grant is just more of the same that Olshey was doing by just getting good role players to surround Dame with vs getting a real 2nd star to play with him. If they're doing all these moves and only end up with more of the same, this will all have been a lot of wheel-spinning.

Multiple sauces cans confirm Domantas Sabonis is no longer an option in trade.

Sure, if you can get him for 2nd rounders and spare change, go for it. But if you're giving up any serious assets like first rounders (which the Pistons are demanding), then it's a bad deal. I fear Portland will trade one of the first-rounders for him. Then Portland will feel obligated to pay him in the summer so they don't lose him for nothing - which will end up likely being an overpay and we will all be back where we started, which is Dame surrounded by a lot of really good players but not another star-level player.

I would much rather roll the very low odd dice on trying to get Harden here this summer than Grant.

This 100%. I'm so tired of the safe bets... I feel like the Blazers are finally willing and in a position to go for something big, but I fear they're going to wuss out and just take more base hits rather than go for a home run.

Man no to grant. Injury history and good but not great. Not sure why we’d go from cj to grant. The only way i want grant is if it eats up existing contracts like hart + winslow

Yeah, there's a whole sub-culture of just Woj impersonators on Twitter. It's.... a thing.
