I think Jerami Grant would be a better PF compliment to Harden than Tobias (and at half the cost)

Sure, but I'd rather have Maxey than either

I don't agree. You can draft something close to Maxey, nearly every year.

This.....isn't true, and certainly not where Philly is usually drafting.
Probabilistically speaking, it's extremely difficult to draft a player as productive as Maxey at his age at 20+.

6'2 SG's are not valuable and not hard acquire. I don't want to call what Maxey is doing "fool's gold", but there are a lot of players who can score 17ppg if you allow them to shoot freely.

But it isn't just his production at that age, it's his maturity, work ethic, and the way he has embraced the city (and vice versa). Yes, there are a ton of SG's who can avg. 17 a game, but this kid was thrown into a starting position that isn't his natural position, and has been a net positive all season, growing up right in front of us.
Sometimes you guys look at numbers as the end all, but there's more involved in building a team than advanced stats. Even if Maxey isn't our starting PG, he's exactly the kind of kid I want to be part of this team. I've always felt he would be a natural as a 6th man type, running the 2nd unit, where he didn't need to defer to anyone.

Re: Tobias Harris Trade Thread
I'd hate to use Maxey to dump Tobias. Would honestly rather use Ben. The idea that you could replace Maxey easier is correct, though.
But I really want to see Morey force the Nets into a corner by sending Harris to OKC. That would clearly indicate they expect to sign Harden outright.

Re: Tobias Harris Trade Thread
We'll be able to get expirings for Tobias (see: CJ McCollum deal). Tobias only has 2 years left on his deal.
Trade 1: Simmons/Curry/2022 FRP for Harden/Millsap
Trade 2: Harrs for Bogdanovic/Ingles
Maxey/Milton/Springer
Harden/Green/Joe
Bogdanovic/Thybulle/Korkmaz
Millsap/Niang/Reed
Embiid/Drummond/Bassey

You're describing him like he's a gunner on a mediocre team. Are you watching him play? Thats a gross over simplification of what Maxey is doing right now.

6'9, 2-way Forwards who can hit the 3, are rare. 6'2 SGs aren't.

This season:
Maxey 3PT % .407
Grant 3PT % .338
So basically one player can hit the 3, the other player can’t.

Broken down into simple player types, sure. And scarcity of those types is what drives Grant's value both in free agency and in the trade market. But, you also see that level of those types on the market pretty frequently, and raw versions that could develop into those types late in drafts.
I think he's a quality starter. Not a great defender, but one with the size, length and athleticism to feel comfortable throwing out against the elite big forwards in the league. Offensively he's fine. I wouldn't want to let him playmake anywhere near the level that playing for a bad team has afforded him, but he can do some stuff with ball in a pinch, and is good enough as a spot up guy to not kill spacing.
I think Tobias is better, but Grant might have more value to a contender. Then again, Jerami seems to want to have the opportunity to be a high teens scorer, so maybe not.

I agree with most of that, especially the bolded. Tobias is slightly better, but Jerami Grant is more likely to help a contender. Especially one who would have two 35% usage players (Embiid and Harden) on the court most of the time.

Re: Tobias Harris Trade Thread
Sam Amick of the Athletic just dropped a piece that says the Sixers have a plan to sign Harden outright in the off-season, but are hoping to make a trade happen today or tomorrow. I'm guessing if they take it to 230pm and don't get a deal done for Harden, we will see Tobias and Ben traded for expirings.

Tobias to lal
Westbrook/1st to Hou
Wall to phi
Shaves a year off Tobias, could use wall as Filler in an off season deal and gets us a guard now looking for another chance.
