As bad as Tobias's contract is, I'm open to some of the fan scenarios that have us taking both Harris & Simmons back (granted we have to include Joe). If Philly is willing to throw in extra picks and/or Maxey as part of the price to dump Harris we should consider it. Tobias is a very good player on a very bad contract with only 2 years left. We won't be FA players anyway, so might as well go all in. In a year, he's a massive expiring deal that could potentially be flipped. A front line of Simmons-KD-Harris would be very formidable.

I'm in the camp that we need to trade Harden.

But it needs to be something big. I proposed trying to rope in Detroit and seeing if we can get Grant along with Simmons. Or, I would even be willing to take Simmons and Tobias (w/Thybulle). Anything is better than staying the course with this awful group. Harden is legit banged up, but he also probably really wants out. Time to cut bait.

"otherwise he is going to walk" is not a scenario that has any kind of realistic likelyhood.

Harden for Simmons straight up in the summer is 99% likely still available. Maybe you miss out on the throw ins with picks or curry. but you get 1 more run with Harden/KD/ half of Kyrie

For Harden to walk for nothing Portland OR the spurs would need to take on Tobias Harris for less then 2 first rounders and then one of orlando/detroit/Houston would need to give 2 first rounders for simmons.

The total return would then be Harden + 1st rounder for Simmons

Otherwise, its just losing Simmons and getting Harden. and if your losing simmons for harden you may as well just make the deal with the nets and eliminate the risk you make those trades and harden gets cold feet.

The ONLY real chance of Harden walking for nothing is if the 76ers trade Harris for expirings at the deadline. Which hasnt happened yet.

I think if he is mentally checked out you have to trade him now. Simmons might even fix the defensive situation and in turn the fast break points and scoring with benefit too. Plus get one of their shooters that alleviates the hole Harris left.

I dont think we have defensive issues to fix when KD is back.

I dont think Harden checked out either. just frustrated

i tried to play around with the trade checker and there is no way we can get Harris unless we give them Joe. I'll pass and would try to see if we can work with Detroit to get Grant in the deal as well.

Luck mostly.

It would be amazing tho if we win it all this year lol. Might be one of the best if not the best come back in NBA history.

The lowest seed to win NBA championship was the Rockets in 1995 when they were the 6th seed.

Let's make it more dramatic. We will be the lowest seed(7th or 8th seed) to win it all.

We can do it as seperate trades...

Harden for Tobias + Curry or whomever

Harris + Milsap + brown + Carter for Simmons

The idea of trading Joe to the Sixers pisses me off.

The Philadelphia 76ers "strongly believe" James Harden will not re-sign with the Brooklyn Nets in the offseason, sources tell Sam Amick of The Athletic.

The 76ers remain hopeful that the Nets will make Harden available in a trade.

If the 76ers are unable to trade for Harden at the deadline, sources say they have a realistic path to acquiring him in the offseason.

The 76ers would trade Simmons to a team with cap room in exchange for assets in return. The Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic and San Antonio Spurs have cap space, while the Memphis Grizzlies or Houston Rockets could get there with minimal effort. The Portland Trail Blazers could also create enough room for Simmons.

The 76ers would also trade the contract of Tobias Harris, or they could also waive and stretch him.

Philadelphia would then sign Harden for either the max of $42 million or something close to it. The 76ers don't believe Harden would object to giving up a portion of his guaranteed earnings to sign with them.

Our leverage is gone. Harden's agent is definitely talking to Morey

We are in serious trouble.

I knew Harden would take a pay cut. He is not looking for money he wants a ring.

I think they are just haggling right now using these mouthpieces.
Morey says "We can wait till off season, take the deal now or no deal."
Expecting Nets camp to come up with something.
I hope the trade does not go down. 76ers fans all think Simmons + fillers for Harden is a steal.. We would not be that stupid..
Harden with spacing in that Philly lineup would be filthy.

Of course he does. That's why he's not playing these stupid ass games with Kyrie.

Mandate might be lifted soon. Question is, how badly Kyrie damaged Harden relationship. We have to hope KD can fix this mess.

Man this is crazy. I’ve never seen a coach like who repeatedly throws his guys under the bus or calls them out. Like how this guy still has a job is mind blowing. Not a good look for Marks. Not a shocker JH wants away from this clown and Kyrie. I feel for KD. But you choose your friends.

Including Maxey and a 1st so that we can flip that to Detroit for Grant would make this so much easier.
