Jeanie & Pelinka need to put their Woody Woodpecker hats on and go tap-tap-tapping on Luka Doncic's door... it's the only thing that can get the Lakers winning again. Offer him 1-5% of the franchise post-retirement to demand a trade here now... then trade Lebron for Luka straight up. Perhaps, throw in a future pick for the Mavs to draft Bronny, so the father-son duo can play together there... don't want to see that union here.

PS: I know this is wishful thinking. :P Who knows what can happen unless they try though? Cuban might go for it if Luka demands out, since Lebron can up the global appeal of the Mavs... and Lebron might go for it, since Cuban is Shark Tank and can help Lebron fulfill his desire to own a franchise someday. Luka's Lakers will be a huge cash-cow for the NBA too, so I hope they turn a blind eye to the tampering, lol.

Looks like Thibs is not playing Reddish... And Knicks need guards and we need wings, might be we can try to trade nunn for cam?

Nunn would have to actually get off his ass first for a trade to even be a possibility.

I'll be glad when trade deadline is done. I think after options for Westbrook to be traded are finalized the Lakers will be better, even if that means keeping Westbrook.

This whole trade thing is a distraction. There's no reason for Lakers to make a trade of future assets unless they feel the team has a shot at contending this season because of the trade.

Not bad but there’s some duplication with Randle’s strengths with Lebron and even AD. How about involving a 3rd team?
Knicks get Westbrook. They get a chance to rebuild with Russ’ contract expiring by end of next season.
Sacramento gets Quickley and Randle. Fox is horrible fit with Haliburton.
Lakers get Fox- He’s a decent young player.

That Randle deal would be a financial blunder worse than the Westbrook trade. We need to be seriously incentivized to even consider swapping another year of Westbrook for that contract and cap space is more valuable to us to add a 2nd star next to Davis after LeBron retires or moves on to play with Bronny elsewhere. The trade I'd consider from the Knicks would have to be Fournier, Noel, Burks and Walker and I wouldn't add a pick to it, as I would move that pick with THT and Nunn for a better wing defender.

I only like Westbrook+Monk for Randle+Fournier..

I don't think giving up the future pick makes sense. Monk is a good asset to move since he won't be kept anyway

Randle is a 6'10 version of Westbrook and comes with the added burden of positional overlap with both LeBron and Davis.

Yeah the fit is clunky as Lakers no longer have a 3+D SG/SF

Randle plays defense, and is a better 3pt shooter (his average is better than RW this season even though it's down from .411 last season, which is better than RW ever has shot)...

Randle isn't a perfect player, and his contract is a risk, but he's a lot better than Westbrook on both ends of the floor at this point, and he may be our best option... And as far as "Bad contracts" go, Randle's 22M/yr for the next few years, is pretty benign...

The only reason that might be an issue is if your plan is to sign another "third star" with a massive contract like Westbrook... Which hasn't worked for us so far anyway...

I'd take Randle back, I also think that contract could be moved again down the road and both he and Bron have proven they can play small ball center

I suggested involving Sacramento to get Fox instead but my goodness, he’s even a worse shooter/ floor spacer than Westbrook.
He’s more athletic though.... are they better off waiting in the summer for the Lillard sweepstakes?

This is what I was thinking, and I'm surprised there's Laker fans here that are exploring such a trade (and giving the Knicks a pick as well)... Lakers acquiring Randle seems very dumb to me. Why do some fans like this trade?

I'm getting flack on the Knicks board for saying the Lakers would be giving us a huge favor here if this were to happen.

The Westbrook experience has been so scarring that people forgot the frustrations they had with Randle and his one outlier season last year is making everyone feel a little too optimistic that he’ll return to that level again.

I think Randle could work on the Lakers but not with Fournier.
I'd take Randle with Burks on the Lakers though.

Lakers 2020 RS team was Bradley, Green, LeBron, Davis, McGee as the starters.
Bradley, Burks, LeBron, Randle, Davis is probably a similar level.
LeBron is the PG and you need guards that aren't slouches defensively to make it work.

Other positives: Salary caps elevations will pace with Randles salary growth so that his deal won't be that bad. Plus Randle played really well with Davis in NOP.

John Hollinger mentioned that the Lakers trading Nunn, THT and a lightly protected 2027 pick for Eric Gordon is an "obvious answer."

I would make that trade in a heartbeat. Gordon is a far superior defender, far superior shooter, better playmaker, etc. I'd even throw in a couple extra 2nd round picks if they throw in Jae'Sean Tate.

Russ, Gordon, Stanley, LeBron, Davis

with Monk, Tate, Melo, Ariza off the bench.

Hell no lol

That pick is going to be good... For an expensive older Gordon... Just this past offseason that was a contract that was very hard for them to get rid of, now all of a sudden it looks attractive because we just want to make a trade for the sake of making a trade. I think we should stick it out with tht.... We are trying to trade him for any damn person, he isn't Westbrook. He is still very young and can develop.

We should get in on the 3 way:
Haliburton, Turner, Tristan , hield.... For Davis, baze, DeAndre

That would be awful.

No one in the league is a worse pairing for Westbrook than Eric Gordon.

With our medical staff and Gordon's injury history, he's probably going to have trouble playing 10 games for us if traded here lol.
