Raps want Bogdan and but Hawks offering Gallo and pick. Raps probably stating either we take Bogdan or give us Gallo and Huerter. Lets see what transpires

Gallo and ATL pick is better than Bogdan IMO. Gallo is expiring next year ($5M guaranteed if we just want to waive him), vs. two more years for Bogdan at $18M. Neither is going to be more than scoring depth off the bench. ATL probably moves up a bit in the standings, but currently that is the #12 pick in the draft.

I believe one or two of GT, OG or Pascal won't be around because I can't see us being able to pay all of those guys unless we are really contenders and MLSE is willing to pay the lux tax.

Bobby did say that Goran's contract gave them an "unique" opportunity to take on larger contract without taking away from contributing players and that the leverage was the ability to take on extra years of salary so at worst seems like it's still up in the air. There's still bunch of players who's names have floated in trade rumors and we've been linked to a ton of them so we'll see but I certainly don't write it off.

Gallo makes a lot of ‘big picture’ sense, especially since we wouldn’t have to attach picks to it to get it done.

His contract can be waived at $5MM if traded on or before the draft. This allows us to send his contract out with picks on draft night for a multi year high wage player, then said team can essentially waive Gallo for a fraction of the cost. Kinda punting the Dragic expiry move… let our team do what they do this year.. then have the trade chips to make a more substantial move on draft night, when other team are more willing to make foundational changes to what they’re building.

Gallo will be viewed as a disappoint by most fans, but def think that’s there’s a bigger picture play in mind if that’s the route Masai goes.
