I think that was the original plan for him to progress into that role. He just needs to be more aggressive.

There's one big problem with Green replacing DFS, DFS has already made 101 3s this year. And it's not only about Green needing to be more aggressive.

I know it might seem he has to be more agressive, but we don't know what Kidd tells him to do. Maybe, or probably, it's the coach who decides how many shots he should take. I believe he has special defensive assignments and is encouraged to cut and run on fast breaks. If coach would tell him to be more agressive, we would likely see him taking more shots. but until that happens, it's safe to assume he is just fulfilling his particular role on the team

I don't believe it's that easy. For every 3 he makes, he air balls one.

His shooting does need to improve and until it does the Mavs would take a step back in that department. As he gets more time though his shot should improve. He needs to be more aggressive though when those opportunities are provided to him.

Yeah, it'll take time. DFS and Kleber took time, and honestly, Luka has taken time and still needs more time to shoot better. Only way to get that time is to give him the opportunity.
But I'd like to keep DFS too, so I'm torn.

Luka is shooting more or less the same % since he was 17. Interesting enough he was much better FT shooter back then. It's not exactly done deal that Josh will become much better, the same goes with Ntilikina.

But that's not necessarily bad either. Green will continue to develop and I hope he can become a legit 3D player. He could become a Danny Green type if he keeps improving.

I think there’s still a chance Green could become a starter. Or very least one of the first guys off the bench. DFS still has value around the league and still has a very tradeable contract.
