Interesting. Turner has more impact. Grant is a solid player but he’s a third fiddle on a contending team. I see him as a more role player who can step up and provide solid defence, energy and scoring when needed but he isn’t that difference maker. He’s playing in Detroit and he’s got a ton of opportunity. He fit Denver perfectly because of all the talent around him. That’s his ideal fit, IMO.

The one thing that doesn't make sense is Sac clearly wants to try to win now after the Sabonis trade. They won't just trade Barnes and Holmes for future picks.

They'll be looking for players that could help them win with Sabonis because otherwise trading Halliburton makes 0 sense. Yes, I get they're the Kings lol.

Trade Dragic + two 2nds for Bogdanovic and Boucher + Flynn for Washington + Smith and call it a deadline.

Initially before I realized the contract restrictions with Jalen Smith, my new favorite player to try & get would be PJ Washington.

Another guy that fits the young timeline with some pretty good upside, can space the floor and continue to bring even more added toughness that likely wouldn't cost that much to extend in relation to his potential.

this article sounds like lewenberg took an hour to read through the realgm trade thread lol. only thing to really glean here is that the raps are probably less likely to do a boucher trade although who knows

Yea he just writes for the casuals. He has no insight. You are 100% correct in saying this board offers more insight than his articles. Seems like a good gig to me though

We're getting Gallinari to bolster the bench, excellent 3 pont shooter that will provide offense on the second unit.

We shouldn't be making a trade just for the sake of making a trade. If theres a deal out there that can help us in the long term then we should do it. If not I'm fine with just moving on with what we have right now and seeing how they do in the playoffs.

I'd pay good money to hear you give this speel to Masai and Bobby.

There's no point of keeping dragic, we won't sign anyone in the offseason. We need to trade him for something, can't let that expiring asset go to waste.

According to the rumors these are who the raps are interested in :

Bigs... Holmes, poetl, Turner
Bench scoring... Pj Washington, gallo, bogdon, Eric Gordon..

Assets likely traded: dragic first +second round picks, boucher, flynn

It'll be tough to get anything significant in value

I wish I could but I'm sure they feel the same way as well.

The Raptors will be going into the playoffs with all 5 starters limping if they don't make a trade or two at the deadline.

I just don't see what Holmes brings to the team? Is he good enough to be an actual body to throw at somebody like embiid in the playoffs? Just another undersized center. Unless it's Nurkic or Turner **** it, we've kind of found a good strategy to play centerless. Let's pick up a good wing scorer and a facilitator to play off the bench and wing it.

I really hope the team finds a way to land Holmes. He's so perfect for how the team plays. He has elite efficiency (68% this year, over 60% the past 4), has a reliable floater (big part of that efficiency), excels in the PnR... but most importantly, he has shown he can be a monster on D, both in terms of switching/recovering and rim protection. He averaged 1.6bpg last season; for some reason (Kings lol) his minutes are actually down this year and he's averaging just over 1bpg.

We can give them Boucher, he should be able to provide some spacing for Sabonis and Fox

The end result is still a first or second round exit. No need to rush into making a move for small short term gains. Let Pascal, Fred, Barnes gain some playoff experience as the main pieces and see what we can add this summer. We just need players who can play consistently and give the starers time to rest. I'm sure that could be done with a player that gets bought out or even a Dragic trade for another expiring player. I just don't see the need to rush into taking on long term contracts or making moves just for the sake of this year's run. It's not like we are competing for a ring this year. It's all about gaining experience and learning to carry a heavy load on a winning team. Let's save our assest for a move that we know will help us down the line.

If we don't trade Dragic for something, we will lose the ability to add a player(s) at that type of salary. We have no cap space going forward, even if we trade Dragic for a player with a similar salary and an extra year we should be making that deal. Raps will be over the cap and likely wanting to stay under the tax and to maximize this roster going forward obtaining a player with a similar salary to Goran or someone who we can likely re-sign is imperative
