You were helping, Russ.
By sitting on the bench.

Shooting 3/11 with 5 TOs isn’t helping the Lakers either

Re: Russell Westbrook SPICY post game interview
Didn't the Lakers make a furious comeback in the 4th quarter w/ Russ on the bench? Am I missing something?

Re: Russell Westbrook SPICY post game interview
When asked if he knows the benchmarks he has to hit to make the Lakers’ closing lineup, Russell Westbrook said:
“I shouldn’t have to hit any benchmarks, to be honest. I put a lot of work in. I got a lot of respect in this game. … I earned the right to be in closing lineups.”

Re: Russell Westbrook SPICY post game interview
I think Westbrook is going to be taken out of the starting lineup very soon. You just have to stop deferring to his salary and his history; there's absolutely nothing good about the basketball he's playing right now.
If that doesn't happen though, something has to. The status quo isn't sustainable.

Re: Russell Westbrook SPICY post game interview
For as much hate as he gets, the fact is, the Lakers are POORLY designed around Westbrook.
Westbrook has to be ultra high usage, have the ball in his hands at all times, and have the pieces around him that allows him to be himself. Lakers have none of those players.
Lakers FO traded for him knowing damn well they didnt have the pieces around him or playstyle to make him work. This isnt all on Russ.

When the Lakers mystifyingly acquired Westbrook I expected comedic entertainment but DAMN!

Their roster isn't optimized, but that's mostly because Russ and Lebron are horrible fits. Russ needs the ball in his hands to be even close to a positive player. And by doing that you're taking the ball out of the hands of the best decision maker in NBA history. Russ is one of the worst off ball players in the league. I couldn't imagine a worse player to pair with Lebron than Russ.

Where could he end up next season? I don't think the Lakers will keep him and there are not that many teams with cap space and the need for him. Back to Houston for Wall?

Yep. Its a bad fit, not because Russ is a bad player, but because he and LeBron play the same position and same play style, you cant really play them together.

I was kinda onside with Russ until this bit. Too much entitlement, not enough accountability.

I think he opts in, LA pay him x amount of his 44m to not report and he signs multi year elsewhere. I don't think he goes far though, the man is clearly happy just to be home.

That's what he cares about. His numbers.
Durant left him in OKC.
Houston & Harden dumped him.
Washington & Beal dumped him.
And now it's LeBron & Davis's turn to dump him.
Not a coincidence. He chases his stats, not winning basketball games.
The issue is, the Lakers probably can't dump him. They got a bad case of Westbrickstipation.

Re: Russell Westbrook SPICY post game interview
Kd took Westbrook to the finals
Harden and Westbrook were a playoff team
Westbrook took okc and wash with Beal to the playoffs.
I hope they just sit Westbrook. Hate that only he is the scapegoat
The lakers will struggle even when he doesn’t play.
Lebron and AD have declined

Re: Russell Westbrook SPICY post game interview
Haha ya there goes the question if he will be willing to be a 6th man. No way will he accept that role.
