Good to hear the Knicks and Hawks are both in on Dragic. There will be a move made regardless.

It's smart to not trade away key pieces for Purtle who is a free agent in 2023 and likely would not get extended with Fred and Gary also needing new contracts.

The Raptors need to be patient and keep adding through the draft.

Yes! This is the kind of post that summons a trade. Need a few more posts of escalating anger and questionable judgement and we're there.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

@AaronBenRose

We wouldnt be moving a pick in a Gallanari trade ot would be the other way around in us getting a pick because hes a negative contract and Atlanta needs the trade. If its for Bogdan thats a different story

Interesting that Grange mentions Fournier in the tweet description but not in the article.

Either way, I guess that probably means Poeltl isn't happening. We're not giving up more than a first for a guy who is going to come off the bench for us.

Would love to see a philly collapse if they trade all their solid role players. Harden isn't having a phenomenal year..

If Atlanta is asking for a FIRST in a Gallinari trade then forget that. That’s a favour of a deal for all parties involved. Adding a first is just greed.

Wow, read the article and I didn't know it was THAT bad between the Nets and Harden

"The sides are absolutely talking, absolutely negotiating," said Brian Windhorst on Get Up. "[Tuesday], the 76ers were out looking for other moves. Talking to other teams about other moves. Moving players. Opening roster spots. Leading those teams to believe they were getting ready to make the other deal.

"They have swapped offers. Really right now, it's about haggling the ancillary parts.

"Does this mean it will absolutely get done by tomorrow? I can't say that. I'm not sitting in the room. It's complicated. They are in the deal zone right now. I am leaning towards this probably happening. I don't want to guarantee it or anything, but I think we're heading in that direction."

Harden is pushing for this trade, according to Windhorst.

"I can't tell you how much James Harden wants this," said Windhorst.

Windhorst suggests the way Harden played at the Sacramento Kings was a signal he wants out. Harden has subsequently not played at all for the Nets.

"He is screaming in every way he possibly can 'I don't want to be here, get me out of here.'"

Windhorst adds that there could be more consequences for the Nets if they don't trade Harden at the deadline.

"That's what has spurred this into being: James Harden's basic feeling 'I don't want to be here anymore.'"

Yeah, this is where if a good deal isn't on the table, I'm fine with staying put.

In the summer, we look to add a good player with our MLE, and hopefully draft a keeper with our first round pick.

Harden is a fantastic fit for Philly. Gives them exactly what they need.

And as much as I think Simmons is super overrated....I can't imagine a much better situation for him than playing with Durant, Kyrie, both handling the ball and shooting way more than him, and even with shooters like Mills and Harris to ensure that Simmons can basically play inside on offense, and become their primary defensive stopper all over the court.

He would basically become their starting center I think. He'll be their Scottie.

Which is why I don't want that trade to go through and I say that more so for what BKN could be (although don't compare Scottie to Ben, he's a thousand times more talented scorer).

I'm not sold Harden does get them over the top. Harden has never been known as a clutch performer in the Playoffs, quite the opposite and does his style of play really mesh well with Embiid?! Harden only remains active when he's on ball. Otherwise he just dribbles the air outta the ball until he can hit a stepback or drive for layup or lob. Sure Embiid will get the occasional lob and work guys in the post but I actually think stylistically Beal or Dame make more sense to run around the perimeter when Embiid is breaking down a team then teams can't so readily double him which would make whichever C guarding him BBQ chicken. Their offence will likely be more so just them taking turns.

Of course Harden will make them better because he won't be an offensive liability like Ben but I just really question how he's gonna handle the PHI crowd when he has his inevitable off nights...especially come Playoff time when he does his usual choke job hunting fouls and imagine when he actually needs to face off against a pissed off, motivated KD & Kyrie on the flipside of the equation....

Ben will bring BKN some desperately needed defence and will actually be in a perfect role where no one is looking for him to score. Have Ben lock up Harden while he's pushing a fast pace on both Harden & Embiid's lumbering asses as they try to keep up with Ben racing down the court while he just picks & chooses which shooter he's gonna throw the ball to ie/ KD, Kyrie, Mills, Curry, Harris....yeah Morey THINKS he's smart but IF Kyrie either finally folds or the mandate changes in a year or so, he might put the nails in PHI's coffin lol Simmons would not be like Scottie, he'd essentially be what I've said he's always been -- a hyper version of Draymond and with all that 3pt shooting around him, PHI could inadvertently turn BKN into a GSW like team that pushes the ball up and down the court while their players bomb 3s on your team's head into oblivion. So yeah if I'm BKN I'd want it but if I'm PHI, I think twice and would rather see if one of POR (*ahem*), OKC (*ahem) or ORL wouldn't want to help execute a S&T of Harden to get Simmons instead. Would greatly improve their odds of getting through the East.

I don't necessarily agree on BKN side. Ben being unwilling to shoot beyond 10 ft allow opposition defenses to focus even more on Durant. Harden will take some defensive pressure off Durant. If Kyrie continues to sit out home games, they will need Harden's offense even more. Ben's liabilities are exacerbated in the playoffs which is the only thing Durant cares about.

If as you say Harden isn't known as a clutch performer in the playoffs, then Ben is worse. He's even afraid to dunk the ball fearing he'd get fouled because he can't shoot a free throw to save his life. From BKN's perspective, the only reason to trade Harden is if they believe Harden wants out and will slack off to get himself traded.

But if he's not traded after the trade deadline, he would have no choice and will likely give 100% effort in the playoffs or else cement his reputation as a playoff choker. If Harden is to be traded, better off waiting until the summer. For this year's playoffs, they're better off with Harden than with Simmons IMO.

Also, from TOR perspective, we could meet Philly in the playoffs and if that happens, I'd rather we face them without Harden.
