poll: how many Wins will the Magic have this year?
Not a lot of hope for this team. And this could be a worst-ever or a worst-this-year club.
The worst ever team was the inaugural 18-win club. Orlando needs to go 6-21 (22%) to get to that mark. Which is basically the current "win" rate. To avoid being in the top-3 worst ever, the Magic must go 10-17 (38%).
Also, will the Magic finish as the 29th worst team this year behind Detroit or finish as the league's worst.
These questions define the infamy of the season.
The it's always possible answer defines Homerism at its finest for the hard-core fans.

Looking at the remaining schedule, I only see 5 winnable games, so throw 2 more in there for hot games, 18 is the ceiling.

Re: poll: how many Wins will the Magic have this year?
we are 12-43 which means only 27 games to go... I say we'll go 10 and 17...so, only 22 wins but still, an impressive finish to the season
...even after going a listless 1-3 on this West road trip. I'm counting on a healthy Fultz (and Isaac later) energizing the offense with aggressive drives and ball movement. Cole, as a result, accepting his off-ball role when it becomes clear that team play wins games, Suggs and RJ providing defensive intensity and improved decision-making, WCJ benefitting the most (statistically) from the increased unselfish guard play. Success breeds success and Franz is re-energized by the rest of the team "getting it" (the way he always has)...Our new shooting guard is a welcome addition but everybody wishes Bamba and TRoss the best in their new homes
RJ should be watching Ja tapes non-stop, learning how to utilize his elite speed with stop and go's and opportunistic passes. I'm so frustrated with RJ but - man, does he have basic physical tools to work with if he could just figure it out...still very young. IDK why, I would have given him away until recently...now, there's just so much upside to him getting his head on straight.
I'd be very happy with a BIG trade including Cole, Bamba, TRoss, Harris, picks for a stud shooting guard/wing but I'm not holding my breath. Best outcome is a very strong last 10 games so they can go into the summer with high hopes and still have a great shot at that top 3 pick. That might also convince our FO that it's OK to take a shot at a big jump trade this summer, rather than play for 2030. By the end of summer, there are 3 new faces in our top 6, including 2 starters (a young guy at the trade deadline, our top 3 pick, and a significant summer trade)

Re: poll: how many Wins will the Magic have this year?
It's going to be a dogfight with Detroit for the worst record IMO.
The Pistons and Magic have roughly the same amount of "winnable" games left, about 8 or 9 apiece.
It's gonna be a real pisser when Orlando only wins like 18 or 19 games and finishes a game worse than Detroit.

Winnable dont mean anything
We win games we shouldnt every year
Also, we dont know what other teams are also going to tank going forward (PORTLAND!), or what teams think we are such a pushover that they rest all their players and we win by default
I see us getting to about 22 wins

Why? The worst 3 teams have the same amount of chances, 14%.

Well, I added games for winning ones we shouldn't. Also, we aren't going to win everyone I counted.
My statement was before the trades today, I agree POR is not as good as they were when I posted.
With the play in games, not sure we'll have teams resting as much as in the past. Teams will be going for that #6 spot hard.

True, but the team with the worst record can't pick worse than 5th.

You realize we achieved this last year and still ended up with the 5th pick, right?ORLMagicGirl15 wrote:Knightro wrote:It's going to be a dogfight with Detroit for the worst record IMO.

We were the 3rd worst and picked 5th. Either way, the lottery is what it is. I bet Portland, who will now be tanking, get the #1 pick and they won’t even be near the worst teams in the league.

I could see the Magic finishing with more wins than the Pistons, but I don't know if they'll leap the Rockets.
I suspect the front office will do what they can to ensure the tank remains strong. I expect Ross to be moved and Harris to be bought out if not traded.
That means more minutes for G-League caliber guys like Iggy and Admiral.

Houston is doing all they can do for the tank. I've watched them the last couple of games and the players don't even bother to run back on defense. Looking at their schedule I could see them winning less than 5 games.Knightro wrote:basketballRob wrote:I think we pass the Rockets and the Pistons.

Man I hope not..I mean, are we really going to go an entire season without 4 players never getting any playing time?

Already 1-0. Good way to start a streak?
If the Magic make the play-ins, there is a for-sure Disney+ movie coming.

Re: poll: how many Wins will the Magic have this year?
I'm not sweating winning too many games, because they're playing pretty much all kids.
Once they move Ross and Harris, it will literally be all kids.
Hard to be upset at winning games when you have 6 guys on rookie contracts and they're all playing major minutes.
